2 St. James R.C. Church May 31, My dear parishioners, Today is the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity, a truly beautiful feast which comes right after the Feast of Pentecost. This feast of course signals the beginning of a long season in the church is really a non-season: Ordinary Time. We put behind us Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter and now Pentecost. We get into living the Way! We get into the Gospel in our lives. After all, this is what the Christian life is all about. We have made our commitment to Jesus Christ. We believe in Him. We believe in the Resurrection. Now we turn to the Gospels and Sacred Scripture and we need to put it all into practice in our lives. We need to live Jesus. During these coming months now until November, we will have many different feast days. We will be having Corpus Christi in two weeks and many special feast days of the saints: the Assumption of the Blessed Mother in August, the Feast of Our Lady of Aparecida and the last apparition of the Blessed Mother at Fatima and of course Thanksgiving in November. We are now looking forward to the summer holidays, the end of the school year and the end of the Pastoral year. It has been a long year and we are all tired from so many pastoral activities. This year as every year has been blessed in so many ways. We had those children baptized at the Easter Vigil and now 20 adults who were confirmed last week at the Pentecost Vigil mass. All of these moments were truly faith moments for our parish: a sign of real faith. This coming Sunday, June 7th is Corpus Christi, the Tradition Feast of the Body and Blood of Jesus. week! 3 St. James R.C. Church 31 May de Maio 31, 2015 de CALENDÁRIO SEMANAL DA COMUNIDADE PORTUGUESA E BRASILEIRA Então meus queridos irmãos e irmãs tenham uma semana abençoada! Father Clement Krug CSSR Pastor Meus queridos paroquianos, Hoje é a Festa da Santíssima Trindade, uma festa linda que vem logo depois do Pentecostes. Essa festa marca o começo da nova temporada comum na Igreja que se chama: Tempo Comun. Já celebramos o Advento e Natal que iniciou o novo ano litúrgico, depois a Quaresma, a Páscoa e agora Pentecostes. Agora precisamos entrar no Caminho que é viver o Evangelho. Afinal das contas é isso o que é a Vida Cristã. Fizemos o nosso compromisso a Jesus! Nós cremos nele. Cremos na Ressurreição. Agora olhamos para o Evangelho e as Escrituras e precisamos pôr tudo isso na prática em nossas vidas. Precisamos viver Jesus. Durantes esses mêses até Novembro teremos muitas festas: festas dos Santos e de Nossa Senhora. Vamos celebrar Corpus Christi semana que vem. Teremos certas festas lindas de Nossa Senhora que são preciosas para nós: a Festa de Nossa Senhora Aparecida e a Festa da última aparição de Maria em Fátima e claro a Festa de Thanksgiving em Novembro. Agora estamos esperando o calor do Verão e as praias e picquiniques, o fim do ano escolar e do ano pastoral. Foi um ano longo e estamos cansados de tantas atividades. É bom parar um pouco! Esse ano como todos os anos foi muito abençoado. Aquelas crianças batizadas na Páscoa tocaram o coração de muita gente e agora os 20 adultos que foram crismados na Vigília de Pentecostes foi uma cerimônia de testemunhar a nossa fé e amor a Jesus! Todos esses momentos aumentam a fé e o fervor entre nós. Esse domingo que vem, 7 de Junho é a festa de Corpus Christi.
