2 St. James R.C. Church June 10, Dear Brothers and Sisters, A disciple is one who does the will of the Lord. In this weekend's Gospel Jesus says that "his disciples" are those who do his will. We have many examples of saints who have done God's will, but I want to emphasize the example of the Virgin Mary. Who in this world did the will of God more than she? She said YES to the invitation of the Lord and showed in her attitudes and actions of a true servant of God. She called herself the "servant" of the Lord. Let us ask Mary to teach us how to be disciples, to teach us to answer Yes to the will of God in our lives, even when this will is not the same as ours. God knows better what to do, and everything that happens is for the good of those who love him. These last two weekends we had the First Communion of 84 children. What a blessing! Catechism in our parish is going along very well, thanks to the work of Sister Luiza, the catechists, and all of us who helped to animate the community with our presence. May God bless these children who now start preparing for Confirmation, the coming of the Holy Spirit upon them. This past week we had the visit of our Provincial Superior, Father Edilei Rosa. He came to animate our community, to visit the priests, and act as a shepherd of our province. May God bless this arduous work. 3 St. James R.C. Church 10 de June Junho 10, de Queridos Paroquianos, O discípulo é aquele que faz a vontade do Senhor. Jesus diz no Evangelho deste final de semana que os seus são aqueles que cumprem essa vontade. Temos muitos exemplos de santos e santas que fizeram esta vontade, mas quero destacar o exemplo da Virgem Maria. Quem no mundo fez mais a vontade de Deus do que Ela? Ela disse Sim ao convite do Senhor e manifestou em suas atitudes os atos da verdadeira Serva de Deus. Ela mesmo se intitulou a escrava do Senhor. Peçamos a Virgem Maria que nos ensine a sermos discípulos, que nos ensine a respondermos Sim também à vontade de Deus na nossa vida, mesmo quando esta vontade não é a nossa. Deus sabe melhor o que fazer e tudo ocorre para o bem daqueles que amam a Deus. Nestes dois últimos finais de Semana nós tivemos a primeira eucaristia de 84 crianças. Foi uma benção. A catequese em nossa paróquia vai muito bem, graças ao trabalho da Irmã Luíza, das catequistas e de todos nós que ajudamos e animamos a comunidade com a nossa presença. Que Deus abençoe estas crianças que agora começarão a caminhada para o sacramento do Crisma, a confirmação do Espírito Santo na vida de cada um. Tivemos aqui semana passada também a visita de nosso superior provincial, o Pe. Edilei Rosa, ele veio animar a comunidade, fazer uma visita aos confrades e agir como pastor de nossa província toda. Deus o abençoe neste árduo trabalho. Que você tenha uma ótima semana e que Deus te abençoe.
