2 St. James R.C. Church May 3, My dear parishioners, Last week we had the kickoff weekend for the Living Stones Campaign for the Archdiocese. We presented the plan at all the masses both in English and in Portuguese. As it was explained our parish has a goal this year for $17,000. If we do raise $17,000 then half of this money will be returned to our parish to help pay for the newly paved parking lot. Once again I want to know that the Archdiocese has been so very generous to our parish for many years. And as you know has helped us pay for the repaving of the parking lot and our parish now needs to pay the rest of that bill. So if we reach our goal we will receive half of this goal back and basically this will cover most of that debt. I don t like to keep harping on this but I need to remind you of the Archdiocese s generosity to our parish over the years with regard to the salaries both of the sister s and one of our priests for over 15 years. We most certainly do not have any complaints with regard to the Archdiocese and their wonderful generosity toward our Apostolate here in Saint James. So we have been very blessed by the financial help we have received from the Archdiocese: our sister s salaries, and their benefits, also the salary of one of our priests and his benefits, the use of 3 cars for the Brazilian apostolate and the expenses for these cars besides insurance. generous as possible in this collection maybe even more generous than you might have planned. My dear parishioners, this is an opportunity our parish has to provide for our parish s future. Please consider in a generous contribution to this campaign. We are thankful for all of your contributions over the years and are counting on your support for this most important diocesan campaign. Those of you who will make a pledge I ask you to be as generous as possible. This Sunday we are having the Pledge Sunday and the first collection for this campaign. So please be as

Pois nos EUA, poderá descontar essas PORTUGUESA E BRASILEIRA 2 de Fevereiro doações de no 2014 Imposto de Renda. Então meus queridos irmãos e irmãs, sejam generosos quanto mais possível. Tudo isso de fato tem seu lado politico em termos da diocese. Eles precisam ver a nossa boa vontade em termos da Igreja e nossa colaboração. Sei que vocês sempre foram muito generosos. Meus queridos paroquianos, Na semana passada iniciamos a Campanha do Arcebispo chamada Pedras Vivas. O plano foi apresentado em todas as missas em Inglês e Português. Foi explicada que a meta esse ano é $17,000. Talvez uns se assustam, porque nos últimos anos a meta foi somente $7,000. Mas foi $7,000 porque eu apelei para a Arquidiocese para baixar a nossa meta de $14,000 para $7,000 por causa da nossa situação paroquial e eles assim fizeram. Mas esse ano por causa da reforma do estacionamento, resolvi não pedir esse desconto. Por que? Se conseguirmos esse dinheiro $17,000 a metade voltará para a paróquia para ajudar pagar essas contas. Também é importante saber que a Arquidiocese tem sido muito generosa conosco durante muitos anos. Eles de fato pagaram metade dessa reforma do estacionamento, e como vocês sabem, o resto fica conosco. Se nós conseguirmos essa cota, receberemos quase tudo que precisamos. De novo, não gosto de ficar me repetindo mas durante muitos anos, mais ou menos uns 20 anos a diocese pagava o salário das irmãs e os seguros de saúde delas. Assim não temos o que reclamar. Por isso eu faço um apelo para sua generosidade para ver se conseguirmos essa meta. Começando esse fim de semana, temos a segunda coleta, mas sei que muitos de vocês pagam o aluguel esse fim da semana, e se quiser fazer sua oferta na semana que vem, não há problema. Ou se quiser outra semana, peço que use os envelopes e colocar essa oferta na coleta. Uma coisa é importante lembrar, assine seu nome no envelope.
