2 St. James R.C. Church March 31, the gift of conversion so necessary that we become a community of love and service. My dear Parishioners, The story of the Prodigal Son this weekend reminds us of the love of God that always embraces us. We frequently separate ourselves from God and his love, but He never separates himself from us. In this story, the young man who left his father's home makes up his mind to return home, and when he is arriving, his father recognizes him from far away, and runs to meet him, covers him with hugs and kisses, and gives him a new life. That's the way God treats us. He runs to meet us, kisses and embraces us, and makes us happy, filling us with love. No matter how far away we are, he always sees us, always receives us, and gives us a chance to start over again. Next weekend we are having a retreat for the young people who will receive the sacraments at Easter and Pentecost. There are 22 young people who will be confirmed and will make their First Holy Communion, and a few will be baptized - all of them heading towards the father's house, all known by God who will cover them with kisses and embraces. All of them are members of our parish, and that makes us very happy. Let's pray for them so that the Holy Spirit touches them with his love and peace. Queridos Paroquianos, A história do Filho Pródigo este final de semana nos recorda o amor de Deus que nos acolhe sempre. Muitas vezes nos afastamos de Deus e do seu amor, mas Ele jamais se afasta de nós. Na história o jovem que foi embora da casa do Pai resolve voltar, e quando ele está chegando, o Pai o reconhece vindo de longe, e corre ao seu encontro e o cobre de beijos e abraços e lhe dá uma vida nova. Assim Deus age conosco, Ele corre ao nosso encontro e nos cobre de beijos e abraços e nos torna mais felizes, completos no seu amor. Por mais distantes que estejamos Ele sempre nos enxerga, sempre nos acolhe e nos dá a chance de recomeçar. No próximo final de semana vamos ter o retiro para os jovens que receberão os sacramentos na páscoa e pentescostes. São 22 jovens que receberão a crisma, a primeira comunhão, alguns serão batizados... todos indo em direção à casa do Pai, todos reconhecidos por Deus que os cobre de beijos e abraços também, todos de nossa comunidade e isto nos alegra muito.
