2 St. James R.C. Church September 11, May of Mother of Perpetual Help bless you and give you the Holy Spirit. My dear Parishioners, There is joy in heaven when even one sinner repents. That is Jesus' message to his people. In the midst of our sufferings and sadness because of the problems of life, we can distance ourselves from God and his love. But God never distances himself from us. He is always with us! We are all called to come back to the Father, and when he meets us again there will be rejoicing in heaven. Some day we will participate in this rejoicing, this happiness of returning to this final journey. From God we came, and to God we must return. This weekend we are starting the campaign to change the flooring in our church, together with other small reform work. Last week we took up a survey to find out what our people thought about changing the place of the altar. The results were quite evenly divided, which does not justify any change. We will certainly reform the sanctuary, where the altar is, making it larger and more beautiful. We are certain that you will like it. This campaign will be explained in each Mass and we know that many will want to help. It is the responsibility of the people of God, this caring for the house of the Lord. Please help. Church September 11, CALENDÁRIO SEMANAL DA COMUNIDADE PORTUGUESA E BRASILEIRA Esta campanha do piso será explicada em cada missa e tenho certeza que muitos vão querer ajudar. É uma responsabilidade do povo de Deus cuidar da casa do Senhor e com certeza nossa Igreja ficará muito mais bonita. Meus queridos Paroquianos, O céu se alegra por um só pecador que se converta! É a mensagem de Jesus para seu povo hoje. Diante do nosso sofrimento e tristeza com os problemas da vida podemos nos afastar de Deus e do seu amor, mas Ele nunca se afasta de nós. Ele sempre está conosco! Sempre somos chamados para regressarmos aos braços do Pai. E quando Ele nos encontra de novo, faz festa no céu! Com certeza diante dele um dia vamos receber esta festa, esta alegria de regressarmos no jornada final para o seu amor. Dele viemos, e para Ele devemos voltar. Enquanto esta volta não acontece, vamos trabalhando aqui para o bem dos nossos irmãos e irmãs, e por falar em trabalho, estamos iniciando neste final de semana uma campanha para trocar o piso da Igreja, junto com outras pequenas reformas. Fizemos no final de semana passada uma pesquisa para saber qual a opinião da comunidade sobre uma mudança de lugar do Altar (presbitério). A pesquisa saiu bem dividida, e não justifica uma mudança. Sei que metade da Igreja gostaria dela, mas não podemos nos esquecer que tudo o que acontece, acontece para o bem daqueles que amam a Deus. Vamos confiar! Faremos uma reforma no presbitério que atualmente temos, ficará maior e mais bonito, tenho certeza que vocês gostarão. Nos ajude! Sem você nada será possível... Sem a sua participação na campanha vamos demorar mais para terminar, mas tenho certeza que Deus vai abençoar você por colaborar.
