2 St. James R.C. Church April 17, Each day a new experience can give us something new, even though we are in the same situation. The Gospel is good news and we must always have the heart to start again. My dear Parishioners, He who hears the Words of Jesus hears the Words of the Father. It is the voice of God which speaks through his loving Son, and transmits to us the good news of his love. We are still celebrating the Paschal Season. The Resurrection of Christ brought new life to the Church and to all God's people. New life means change, a new time. Not everything remains the same. It is important that we open our hearts to what is new, to what is different. Sometimes I meet people in church who say something like this: "For forty years we have been doing things this way." We seem to think that the Church will die when we die if it doesn't do things our way. This is not true. We all will pass away. Everything is passing. The priests don't remain forever, the faithful also are not the same forever, and even the times are not always the same. God help us if we become imprisoned by a certain time, a certain situation, or a certain person who is not Christ. Jesus himself says: "Behold I make all things new," and it is necessary always to be born again to be able to enter the Kingdom of God. It is a renovation, and a heart open to new possibilities. We start over again if something doesn't turn out well, the Church is made up of sinners and saints, and we are not obliged to always succeed, but we are obliged to try our best, and to start over again if necessary. There are many new things in our parish, and new people who have started to participate in our pastoral works and counsels. It is Jesus fulfilling his word of "renewal." He is alive and risen among us, re-creating the grace of a lost paradise. May we know how to enter again this garden, where every day we find new roses blooming. you. 3 St. James R.C. Church 17 de Abril April de 17, CALENDÁRIO SEMANAL DA COMUNIDADE PORTUGUESA E BRASILEIRA conselhos! É Jesus cumprindo sua palavra de renovação! Ele está vivo e ressuscitado entre nós, recriando em nós a graça do paraíso perdido! Que saibamos entrar neste jardim novamente, neste Edem, onde todos os dias encontramos um botão novo de rosa. Meus queridos Paroquianos, Quem ouve as Palavras de Jesus ouve ao Pai. É a voz de Deus que fala através do seu Filho amado e nos transmite a boa nova do seu amor. Ainda celebramos o tempo pascal, a ressurreição de Cristo trouxe vida nova para a Igreja e para todo o povo de Deus. Vida nova significa mudança, tempo novo... nem tudo permanece a mesma coisa. É importante abrirmos o coração para o novo, para o diferente. As vezes vejo pessoas na Igreja que falam assim: por quarenta anos fazemos deste jeito. As vezes achamos que a Igreja vai morrer conosco, se não for do nosso jeito, e isto não é verdade. Todos passam, tudo passa. Os padres não são os mesmos por muito tempo, os fiéis também não são os mesmos, os tempos não são iguais. Pobre de nós se ficamos presos a um tempo ou à uma situação ou a uma pessoa que não seja o Cristo. O próprio Jesus diz eis que faço novas todas as coisas, e que é necessário nascer de novo sempre para entrarmos no Reino de Deus. É a renovação, é o coração aberto às novas possibilidades... se não dão certo nós recomeçamos, como na vida familiar... A Igreja é formada por santos e pecadores, todos nós, que não temos a obrigação de acertar sempre, mas sim a obrigação de tentar o melhor e saber voltar atrás se necessário. Ouvir as Palavras de Jesus significa que cada dia temos um novo aprendizado, cada dia uma experiência pode nos trazer algo novo, ainda que seja a mesma situação. Por isso na novidade do Evangelho, que significa boa nova, sempre devemos ter o coração aberto para recomeçar! Em nossa paróquia muitas coisas se fazem novas, muitas coisas boas e pessoas novas tem começado a participar de nossas pastorais e Tenha uma ótima semana e que Deus te abençoe!
