2 St. James R.C. Church March 19, Dear Parishioners During this holy season of Lent we are called to conversion, to a change of life that makes us better people. Lent is the time to start this change, a transformation that we all desire. No human being is unchangeable. Even in death we pass through various processes, and the final change happens only when we leave our body and go to God. The Church always offers us means so that these transformations occur, Lent, Advent, feast days of the saints, the special Church seasons...all are channels and useful instruments to help us reflect within our heart. We are very happy with those who are approaching the final stage of their preparation for Baptism. It is also an opportunity for those who desire this transformation. The grace of a Sacrament transforms our life and enriches of very being with a tremendous treasure. Every Friday we have the Way of the Cross and confessions, which help us to enter the spirit of conversion. These forty days are days of having a deep experience of God and the victory of the cross of our salvation. May the love of the Father transform our lives and lead us to an experience of a true love for our brothers and sisters, and for the Church. May you be blessed during this journey. Church March 19, CALENDÁRIO SEMANAL DA COMUNIDADE PORTUGUESA E BRASILEIRA Sacramento de Reconciliação Confissões na Quaresma Todas as quartas, na missa, 7:30pm e Todas as sextas, na Via Sacra 8pm Meus queridos paroquianos, Neste tempo santo da quaresma somos chamados à conversão, à uma mudança de vida que nos transforme em pessoas melhores. A quaresma é o tempo de começar uma mudança, uma transformação que todos nós desejamos. Nenhum ser humano é imutável. Até em nossa morte passamos por diferentes processos, e a mudança final só acontece quando deixamos este corpo e vamos em direção à Deus. A Igreja nos oferece sempre meios para que estas transformações aconteçam, a quaresma, o advento, a festa dos santos, os tempos especiais da Igreja... todos são canais e instrumentos úteis para refletirmos sobre nosso coração. Nos alegramos com aqueles que estão nos tempos finais da sua preparação para o Batismo. É tempo oportuno também para eles que desejam esta transformação. A graça de um sacramento transforma nossa vida e enriquece nosso ser com um tesouro imenso. Todas as sextas estamos tendo via sacra e confissões que também nos ajudam a entrarmos no espírito de conversão. Estes 40 dias são dias de uma profunda experiência com Deus e vitória na cruz de nossa salvação. Que o amor do Pai transforme nossas vidas e nos leve a experimentarmos o verdadeiro amor pelos irmãos e pela nossa Igreja. Que você seja abençoado nesta caminhada. Que Deus abençoe a todos.
