2 St. James R.C. Church December 17, Dear Parishioners, We are starting the third week of Advent, a time to prepare for a special coming of the Lord. How are we taking advantage of this time? John the Baptist helps us to prepare the way of the Lord. He is the great prophet who announces the Redeemer to the whole world, the one who will baptize us with the fire of the Holy Spirit. To meet Christ our conversion is necessary, and for this to happen John speaks of the necessity of looking to what is fundamental, without worrying about other things that are not essential. Our Church will also prepare for the coming Christmas festivities. Let us accept the grace of contemplating the love of God who became a man to experience our humanity, a gesture of the Father s love for us. Thanks be to God that our Church is very much alive, with many pastoral activities, with many children in our catechism program, with lots of real happiness with the groups that cooperate in all of this. All of us are called to the ministry of service. Everyone has his talents, his gifts. So let us all work for the building up of the kingdom of God. A beautiful crib has been put up, to remind us of the happiness of our Savior present with us. Let us contemplate this God-made-man. Feel what a grace this is. We invite you to come and participate in all the celebrations at this Christmas time. Your presence will make our parish even more beautiful. God bless you. Have a good week. 3 St. James R.C. Church December 17, Meus queridos Paroquianos, Estamos vivenciando o terceiro final de semana do Advento, um tempo de preparação para o Senhor que vem ao nosso encontro. Como estamos aproveitando este tempo? João Batista nos ajuda a prepararmos o caminho do Senhor. Ele é o grande profeta que anuncia o Redentor para o mundo todo, aquele que nos batizará com o fogo do Espírito de Deus. Para este encontro é necessário nossa conversão, e por Isso João nos fala da necessidade de olharmos para o fundamental, sem nos preocuparmos com os excessos. Nossa Igreja vai se preparando também para as festividades do Natal, vamos nos aproximando desta graça de contemplarmos o amor de Deus que se encarna e experimenta nossa humanidade, um gesto de amor do Pai conosco. Graças a Deus nossa Igreja está muito viva, com muitas pastorais, com muitas crianças na catequese, com muita alegria entre os grupos que nos ajudam. Todos somos chamados ao ministério do serviço também. Cada um com seus afazeres e dons; assim vamos trabalhando para a construção do Reino de Deus. E venha participar conosco de todas as celebrações para o Natal, sua presença torna nossa paróquia muito mais bonita! Que Deus te abençoe e uma ótima Semana.
