2 St. James R.C. Church November 22, God bless you during this week. Father Celso Junior, CSsR. Pastor My dear Parishioners, This Sunday we come to the end of another Liturgical Year. Christmas is approaching. Next week Advent begins, a time to remember the birth of Christ, but also a time to prepare for his second coming which he promised for us. It is a time to evaluate this past year, what we did that was good, and how we might do better. What were the dreams that we accomplished, and what dreams need more attention. It is a time to think of the friendships that we made and cultivated. It is a time to discover what must be left behind in order to go forward more freely, less burdened. It is also a time to start to make some plans. Who are the people to whom we must give more attention, to forgive and love a little more? Some day Jesus is going to return visibly in all his glory expecting to find us living this way, or at least struggling to live this way. The goal is important without doubt, and perhaps many of us have not reached it as yet, but are going in the right direction. Today's feast is Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. He is Lord and King of everything, exalted above all. But the question we should ask ourselves is whether he is King of our hearts, of our actions and decisions. How do we know if he is or not.? By our actions, by the way we forgive, by not judging, by being charitable, by helping others. If this is the case, he is King of our lives. If it is not the case, then we have to make a firm resolve to try our best to make him our King. Church 22 November de Novembro 22, 2015 de CALENDÁRIO SEMANAL DA COMUNIDADE PORTUGUESA E BRASILEIRA Queridos Paroquianos, Com este domingo encerramos mais um ano litúrgico; já estamos nos aproximando da festa do Natal e por isso começa o Advento, tempo de preparação, não somente preparação para recordarmos o nascimento de Cristo, mas também de espera-lo em sua segunda vinda, prometida para nós. É tempo de avaliarmos como foi nosso ano, o que de bom fizemos e onde precisamos melhorar; quais os sonhos que alcançamos e quais os que necessitam mais atenção. É momento de rever as amizades que foram feitas e cuidadas... é momento de recordar o que precisou ser deixado para trás para pudéssemos caminhar mais livres e leves. Também é momento de começar a fazer planos, o que queremos de bom para o próximo ano? Quais as pessoas que devemos dar mais atenção, perdoar e amar um pouco mais. Um dia Jesus retornará na sua glória e deve nos encontrar assim, ou pelo menos com uma vida que se esforçou para ser assim. O caminho sem dúvida é importante, e ainda que talvez alguns de nós não consigamos chegar, estamos indo em sua direção. Na festa de hoje a Igreja celebra Jesus Cristo Rei do Univerno. Ele é Senhor e Rei de todas as coisas, exaltado acima de tudo. Mas a pergunta que devemos fazer é se Ele é rei de nosso coração, de nossas decisões e ações... e como sabemos se é ou não? Pelas nossas ações, pelo modo de perdoar, de não julgar, de ser caridoso, de ajudar a todos... Se isto acontece, Ele é Rei de nossa vida, se não acontece, então devemos fazer o propósito firme e nos esforçarmos para deixarmos Ele ser. Que você consiga esta vitória, todos os dias!
