38 The Brazilian Coal Industry View We have been 20 years out of the Brazilian Energy Agenda but now we intend to change this situation The global energy scenario is helping to see coal as an important and competitive source of energy. Organization of the economic chain creation of the Brazilian Coal Association - ABCM august/2006 Return to geological survey for coal in whole Brazil Develop and adapt technologies CCTs and CCS suitable for local conditions, increase R&D. Develop Capacity Building in Coal (geology, mining, uses and environmental issues) Establish networks and Research Centers to develop technologies like gasification, coal bed methane and Carbon Capture and Storage
