3 THE EVENT Analitica Latin America celebrates one more success! The event received 600 brands and 9,549 visitors, who walked around the exhibition and got acquainted with the 1 st Innovation and Knowledge Circuit. Analitica s main objective is to provide a business platform, which generates opportunities for exhibitors and visitors, always bringing innovation and last trends from the sector. Analitica Latin America is one of the world main meeting points for the chemical and analytical industry. Suppliers, distributors and manufacturers from the laboratorial technology, biotechnology and quality control sectors present the last innovations and trends from the sector in this biennial event. Professionals from the sector followed up the new technologies developed by national and international companies. In 2013, the event presented the 1 st Knowledge and Innovation Circuit, where different projects were integrated and offered a single environment for integration and business generation. 6 Business The chemical industry performs a relevant role in the economy. In Brazil, the chemical sector is the second most important in the formation of the Industrial GDP. The growth of the biennial exhibition is a consequence from the strong growth of the market, allied to the economic growth seen in Brazil in the last years. Considering all its segments, in 2012, the chemical industry had estimated net revenues of R$ 293 billion, according to ABIQUIM Brazilian Chemical Industry Association growth by 12.4% in relation to Participation in the purchase decision 84% of the visitors directly participate in the company s purchasing process. 10 KNOWLEDGE AND INNOVATION CIRCUIT 3 th ANALITICA CONGRESS ANALITICA SCIENTIFIC PAPERS KNOWLEDGE AND INNOVATION CIRCUIT KNOWLEDGE ARENA LIVELAB Integrating different projects during Analitica Latin America, the 1 st Knowledge and Innovation Circuit presented content, trends and the most modern in terms DF Analytical Chemistry and its different applications to the audience of congress attendees and visitors at the exhibition. The project integrated the Exhibition with: Knowledge Arena which provided to visitors and guests the opportunity to participate in short presentations with innovative topics by means of lectures and interaction, located inside the exhibition, the Analitica Latin America Congress, whose main objective is the interaction of the academic community with the industrial sector Live Lab a platform, which presented totally equipped laboratories with live demonstrations during three days, since the sample preparation to measurement and result evaluation. The participants had access to many different processes and techniques. 10

11 3 rd ANALITICA CONGRESS The Analitica Latin America Congress, in its 3 rd edition, was carried out with the mission to promote and catalyze the integration of the science, industry, and technological and research centers with the society for the progress of the country and the Brazilian Analytical Chemistry. Trying, by means of continuous improvement and innovation, to offer better products and services with high aggregated value to the market. From this edition, the Congress and the Exhibition were transformed in a unique platform of interaction, business and knowledge. The Analitica Latin America concept offer services, products and advanced content to all participants. Evaluation of the event The 3 rd edition of Analitica Congress, was held in the 12 th Analitica Latin America. The Congress received about 200 participants, who had a program with symposiums, round tables, mini courses, 129 presentations and a large exposition area. 100% of the congress audience told they were satisfied with the content presented during the lectures; 84% affirmed they are interested in participating in the 4 th Analitica Congress; 97% of the congress attendees affirmed that Analitica Congress contributed to the update of the professionals from the sector. The discussed topics were Energy, Food Safety, Pharmaco and Life Sciences, Green Chemistry, Innovations Forum and Pittcon Session. There was also an exposition area available to the participants containing panels, which presented researches in universities, research centers and industries. 11

14 LIVELAB LIVE LAB In Live Lab, real time analysis were executed and aligned with the Congress theme, which demonstrated the usability of last generation equipment. Full analysis procedures were executed, since the sample preparation, passing through the chemical analysis, to the result evaluation and creation of reports, using advance software, totally friendly and easy to learn and use. Live Lab received more than 300 participants. The demonstrations involved 10 specialized professionals and 6 product managers. The Live Lab organization had 3 responsible people from Nova Analítica: Vinícius Almeida, Fábio Delgadinho and Adriana Garcia. 14

16 SCIENTIFIC PAPERS Scientific Papers In the scientific papers area, it was possible to read researches developed in Universities, Research Center and Industries, which were selected by the Scientific Committee of the Congress based on quality and innovation criteria. There were a total of 129 papers registered. The papers themes were Energy, Food Safety, Pharmaco and Life Science, Green Chemistry and Others (Innovations) Pittcon Award The winner paper was CHROMATOGRAPHY METHODOLOGIES APPLIED TO PURIFICATION OF BIOACTIVE MOLECULES, PRESENT IN THE POISON OF TARANTULAS. 17 PITTCON PARTNERSHIP For more than 5 years, Analitica Latin America and Pittcon Laboratory Science Equipment Conference and Exposition have a successful partnership, which encompasses strong promotion of communication among events, participation with a stand, content exchange and awards. The world scientific community recognizes Pittcon as one of the main platforms for innovation, debates and new product launching for the laboratory, chemicalanalytical, spectroscopic, food safety, pharmaceutical, environmental and life science sectors. Pittcon awards the best paper presented at the Analitica Latin America Congress with a trip to the event. The award is the consolidation of innovation and engagement of the Brazilian scientific class before the world scenario. Annually, Analitica Latin America sponsors a group of teachers to perform a Brazilian Session within the Pittcon conference. The theme presented in 2014 will be the Program Science without Borders with lectures by CNPq, Petrobras, Institute of Chemistry of USP and the Chemical Department of the Federal University of Minas Gerais. A prior session was carried out at the Knowledge Arena during Analitica Latin America The Program Science without Borders seeks promoting consolidation, expansion and internationalization of the Brazilian science and technology, innovation and competitiveness by means of interchange and international mobility. The initiative is a result from the common efforts of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and the Ministry of Education (MEC), by means of their respective supporting institutions CNPq and Capes, and the Departments of Higher Education and Technological Education at MEC. (53 thousand Brazilian students already got scholarship to study abroad). 17

19 USA CERTIFICATION Analitica Latin America had the USA Commercial Certification in its 12 th edition. With the certification, the USA Commercial Service recognizes the capacity and the experience of the event promoter to organize a quality international event, where the American exhibitors could present their products and services for the analytical chemistry industry. The exhibition functions as a platform for the companies to establish and expand the international distribution, generate sales leads and evaluate competitors. The USA Commercial Service specialists worked together with the companies to identify potential buyers and partners at Analitica Latin America. The United States Commercial Service participated in Analitica Latin America 2013 for the first time, through the Program Certification of Exhibitions Abroad of the United States Department of Commerce. This Program objective is to recruit and assist the American companies in important events abroad, where their products are competitive. In addition to the 16 American companies exposing at Analitica 2013, another six companies participated in the Commercial Service stand, with the purpose to establish commercial partnerships with potential representatives for their products in Brazil. The American companies were very much satisfied with the quantity and the quality of the contacts made during the exhibition. Due to these companies success at Analitica Latin America 2013, for 2015, the United States Commercial Service intends to contribute for the creation of an American Pavilion, thus increasing the opportunities for partnership for the American companies interested in the Brazilian market. ANALITICA LATIN AMERICA INICIA COM SUCESSO SUA 12ª EDIÇÃO Começou hoje a 12ª edição da Analitica Latin America Feira Internacional de Tecnologia para Laboratórios, Análises, Biotecnologia e Controle de Qualidade - no Transamerica Expo Center, São Paulo. Durante os três dias de evento, profissionais das indústrias química e analítica tem a oportunidade de conhecer os lançamentos e os destaques na principal plataforma de relacionamento do setor. O faturamento líquido da indústria química brasileira em 2012 foi de US$ 153 bilhões, segundo a Associação Brasileira da Indústria Química (Abiquim). A associação também indica que as vendas internas de produtos químicos cresceram 9,2% no bimestre junho-julho. O Microlab é um inteligente equipamento desenvolvido para dispensar e diluir amostras sem contaminação cruzada. A Analitica Latin America também foi o local escolhido para lançar o Fast Pred. O equipamento é um lise de amostras para extração de DNA, RNA e proteínas. GENIE e Gases puros HiQ A Linde trouxe para o evento sua nova linha de Gases Puros HiQ, que pretende atender a demanda do mercado por gases com menos impurezas. A empresa também apresentou na feira o GENIE, linha de cilindros de gases, que são mais leves que os tradicionais cilindros de aço carbono. Ações do Inmetro na área de energia renovável e a evolução do Programa Nacional de Controle de Resíduos e Contaminantes foram dois dos temas abordados. Amanhã, o congresso terá como foco Química Verde e Fármacos. Uma estrutura completa de laboratório realiza ao vivo testes com equipamentos de última geração. Essas análises são determinantes para as indústrias entregarem ao consumidor produtos de qualidade, que não ofereçam riscos a seus usuários e que atendam aos padrões exigidos pelas entidades reguladoras. Dois dos exemplos mostrados são os testes de medicamentos para análise de sua degradação e de biodiesel, para avaliar se o produto atende às normas da Agência Nacional de Petróleo (ANP).
