2 Paredes Centre Of Furniture Design A COLLECTIVE PROJECT TO REINVENT A TERRITORY FOR A SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

3 Located in the North of Portugal, in the very heart of Douro Litoral Total area km 2 ; 24 parishs 90,000 inhabitants; One of the 10 youngest municipalities in the country in terms of population (1/3 of its inhabitants are aged below 25); More than 800 SMEʼS furniture factories, 65% of the national production year

4 A COLLECTIVE PROJECT TO REINVENT A TERRITORY FOR A SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT THE GOALS OF THE PROJECT : TO DEVELOP A NEW ECONOMIC MODEL FOR THE REGION JOINING THE TRADITIONAL INDUSTRIES (FURNITURE) WITH THE CREATIVE INDUSTRIES AND ACTIVITIES. TO IMPLEMENT AN URBAN REGENERATION PROJECT IN THE CITY OF PAREDES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CREATIVE CITY. TO STRENGTHEN THE COMPONENTS OF CREATIVE INDUSTRIES IN THEIR RELATION WITH THE INNOVATION AND INDUSTRY OF FURNITURE OF THE TERRITORY. TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CLUSTER OF CREATIVE INDUSTRIES OF THE NORTHERN REGION.
