2 Quatro tipos de de domicílio(famílias) - Four types of domicile(families) 1. Agrícolas: Qualquer domicílio no qual pelo menos um membro está empregado no setor agrícola e 67% ou mais da renda domiciliar advém de atividades agrícolas. Agricultural: Any household in which at least one member is employed in the agricultural sector and 67% or more of the household income comes from agricultural activities. 2. Pluriativas : Pelo menos um membro está empregado no setor agrícola, mas menos de 67% da renda domiciliar vem da agricultura. Pluriactive: At least one member is employed in the agricultural sector, but less than 67% of household income comes from agriculture 3. Rurais não- agrícolas: Vivem em áreas oficialmente rurais, mas sem qualquer membro do domicílio trabalhando na agricultura. Non- farm rural: They live in officially rural areas, but without any household members working in agriculture 4. Urbanas não agrícolas: Vivem em áreas oficialmente urbanas, com nenhum membro domiciliar empregado na agricultura. Urban non- agricultural: They live in officially urban areas, with no household members employed in agriculture

17 Conclusões Conclusions q Ao contrário do mundo urbano, no qual há pouco que o Estado possa fazer para exercer influencia sobre os resultados do mercado de trabalho, na agricultura as políticas publicas são mais influentes. Unlike the urban world, where there is little that the state can do to influence labor market outcomes, public policies in agriculture are more influential. q Agricultores sem insuficiência de terra tem 2% probabilidade de serem pobres. Farmers without land insufficiency are 2% likely to be poor. q Os mapas tratores e pobreza são complementos quase perfeitos. Tractor maps and poverty are almost perfect complements. q Ha uma escolha entre mais proteção social e mais políticas de desenvolvimento agrário. There is a choice between more social protection and more agrarian development policies.
