WINES IN FAMILY With origins in Valpaços (Trás -os- Montes), António Teixeira had a career that took him to the four corners of the world contacting with many great wines from acclaimed varieties internationally. The implementation of Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima was a mirror of these experiences, combining the best terroir of Trás -os- Montes to the best varieties that proved both Portuguese and international. The new generation of the family seeks to broaden the horizons of this pioneering work and visionary, to transform the purpose and familiar passion for homeland, taking further the name of the Estate and Valpaços Region, by stating it in Portugal and in the world of the wines. THE WINE REGION VALPAÇOS THE TERROIR OF VALPAÇOS TRÁS OS MONTES Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima estate is located in Valpaços zone - one of the unexploited treasures of Portugal s grapegrowing, reflecting the wealth and natural vocation of our country to the culture of vine and wine.. The Hot Land from Trás-os-Montes has always been intended for the production of wines of excellence, from the Passum Optima (wine of raisins for Rome, during the life of the Roman Empire) to the fact that Valpaços have belonged to the Port wine region, in the mid-20's of the last century. THE QUINTA ESTATE The estate is composed of two distinct areas, a cooler and arid one, and a drier and warmer one, combining more matured grapes with others with an higher acidity: This feature results in dense and complex wines, but with balance and elegance. In addition, there is the quality of the vineyards, with some of the best portuguese and international grape varieties: WHITE: Verdelho, Côdega do Larinho, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Moscatel. RED: Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon, Trincadeira, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Bastardo.

Maceração prolongada e fermentação maloláctica em madeira de carvalho. Estágio durante 12 meses em madeira de carvalho francês e americano. TASTING NOTES Na Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima selecionámos as melhores uvas das castas Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira e Bastardo para criar o nosso vinho tinto Reserva. De cor granada profunda, tem um aroma de frutos pretos maduros, especiarias e um toque balsâmico, harmonizados pelo estágio em madeira de carvalho francês durante 12 meses. Na boca sente-se um frutado intenso, com taninos aveludados e um final longo e persistente. O nosso Reserva é um vinho mais encorpado, cujo estágio conferiu mais complexidade e equilíbrio. De cor amarelo pálido, tem um aroma a frutos brancos e exóticos com notas cítricas, harmonizados pela fermentação e estágio em madeira de carvalho francês e americano. Reception with destemming and immediately crushing. Fermentation in stainless steel vats with tanning in a controlled temperature of about 23 C, with extended maceration. Aged in stainless steel vats, until the filling into the bottle. TASTING NOTES At Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima we selected grapes from the classic transmontanas grape varieties, combining the aromatic intensity from the Touriga-Nacional, with the floral and fragrant aroma and structure conferred by the Trincadeira, together with the freshness and acidity of Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a young wine without stage that brings out the varietal aromas. PAIRING TIPS Thanks to its youth and freshness, this wine is the ideal match with grilled meat dishes, fat fish, smoked meats or cured goat cheese. Best served at 17 C. WINEMAKER Luís Cortinhas ORIGIN Sandy and granitic soils of greater altitude of Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima, with predominant East sun exposure. VINIFICATION AND AGEING Hand picked grapes to small perforated boxes. Reception with total de-stemming. Smooth crushing and pressing under inert atmosphere. Fermentation with controlled temperature of about 16ºC. Aged in stainless steel vats with "batonnage" until the filling into the bottle. TASTING NOTES At Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima we selected grapes from the classic transmontanas grape varieties, combining the intensity of Côdega-de-Larinho with the aroma of Moscatel-Galego-Branco, together with the great freshness and acidity of the Verdelho. It is a young wine without stage that brings out the varietal aromas. PAIRING TIPS Thanks to its youth and freshness, try this wine by itself or matching with summer dishes such as grilled fish, seafood or sushi. Best served at 8 C. VINIFICATION AND AGEING Hand picked grapes to small perforated boxes. Reception with total de-stemming. Soft crushing and pressing under inert atmosphere. Fermentation with controlled temperature of about 14ºC. Aged in stainless steel vats until the filling into the bottle. TASTING NOTES At Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima we selected the best grapes from the Touriga-Nacional grape variety to create our Rosé wine. Pink hue, with red hints, combines fresh embodied fruit aroma like raspberry and currant with a cooler side of the field flowers, typical from the grape variety. In the mouth is intense with a wild profile and a crisp acidity that makes it gourmet. It is a young wine without stage that brings out the varietal aromas. PAIRING TIPS Excellent as an aperitif or to accompany light and summery dishes such as grilled fish, pizza and salads. Best served at 8 C. Deep ruby, it has intense aromas of ripe red fruits balanced by floral notes, typical of the grape variety. In the mouth you feel intense and elegant fruity flavors, long and full. This wine do not had any oak ageing in order to highlight the character of the grape variety. PAIRING TIPS Try this wine with grilled meats, baked fish and intense cheeses. Best served at 16 C. QUINTA SYRAH 2015 VINHO REGIONAL TRANSMONTANO WINE - Red VINTAGE 2015 APPELLATION Vinho Regional Transmontano GRAPES Syrah (100%). WINEMAKER Luís Cortinhas ORIGIN Schist soils of Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima, with predominant South sun exposure. VINIFICATION AND AGEING Hand picked grapes to small perforated boxes. Reception with destemming and immediately crushing. Fermentation in stainless steel vats with tanning in a controlled temperature of about 23 C, with extended maceration. Part of the blend made the malolactic fermentation in used French oak barrels. Aged in stainless steel vats, until the filling into the bottle. TASTING NOTES At Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima estate we selected the best Syrah grapes to create this single varietal. Deep garnet color, it has a confit aroma of very ripe black fruits, spices and a balsamic hint typical of the variety. The ageing in French and American oak added a slight cocoa and roasting flavors to the mineral character of Syrah. QUINTA CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2015 VINHO REGIONAL TRANSMONTANO WINE - Red VINTAGE 2015 APPELLATION Vinho Regional Transmontano GRAPES Cabernet Sauvignon (100%). WINEMAKER Luís Cortinhas ORIGIN Schist soils of Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima, with predominant South sun exposure. VINIFICATION AND AGEING Hand picked grapes to small perforated boxes. Reception with destemming and immediately crushing. Fermentation in stainless steel vats with tanning in a controlled temperature of about 23 C, with extended maceration. Aged in stainless steel vats, until the filling into the bottle. TASTING NOTES At Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima estate we selected the best Cabernet-Sauvignon grapes to create this single varietal. Ruby color, it has an intense aroma of ripe red fruits, such as plum and cherry, with a hint of ripe pepper, typical on this variety. In the mouth is full and long, balanced by a spicy hint. TASTING NOTES At Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima we selected the best grapes from the Moscatel Galego Branco grape variety to create this varietal wine. Pale yellow in color, has a typical floral aroma from the grape variety, but balanced with well defined citrus and mineral notes. In the mouth it feels an intense fruity with an excellent acidity in a very fresh and persistent flavor set with an elegant finish.
