2 English Instructions for use: Straumann Variobase for Crown and Straumann Variobase for Crown AS (Angled Solution) 1. Product description Abutments Abutments are placed into dental implants to provide support for prosthetic reconstructions such as crowns and bridges. Basal Screws Basal screws are used for the fixation of the abutment to the dental implant. 2. Intended use Prosthetic components directly connected to the endosseous dental implant are intended for use as an aid in prosthetic rehabilitations. 3. Indications The Straumann Variobase is a titanium base placed onto Straumann dental implants to provide support for customized prosthetic restorations. Straumann Variobase for Crown and Straumann Variobase for Crown AS are indicated for screw-retained single tooth or cement-retained single tooth and bridge restorations. 4. Contraindications Please consider any potential allergies or hyper-sensitivity to chemical ingredients, please refer to the label. Device Material Straumann Variobase for Crown, Screws Titanium alloy, Ti-6Al-7Nb (titanium-aluminumniobium or TAN). Straumann Variobase for Crown AS, Screws 5. Warnings Straumann devices must be secured to prevent aspiration or swallowing during intraoral handling. Failure to follow the procedures outlined in these instructions may lead to any or all of the following complications: Aspiration or swallowing of a component Breakage Infection 6. Precaution The Straumann Variobase is a single-use device and must not be resterilized. Use devices immediately after sterilization. Do not store sterilized devices. Sterile handling is essential. Never use potentially contaminated components. Contamination may lead to infections. Place implant-borne restorations only in occlusion when the implant is completely osseointegrated. Dental cement or any other material used for the attachment of prosthetic components should be processed as specified by the manufacturer. An implant is only to be restored with the corresponding original abutment compatible with that specific implant. When modifying a Straumann Variobase for Crown and Straumann Variobase for Crown AS with adjustable chimney height, do not cut lower than the mark on the abutment to assure abutment stability. User shall pay attention when using the Straumann Variobase for Crown AS with prosthetic components realized with a non-validated workflow. For such prosthesis an angulation of 20 maximum is recommended. Proper functionality of the Straumann Variobase for Crown AS is not guaranteed for greater angulations. 7. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Safety Information These products are fabricated from a metal material which can be affected by MRI energy. For further information refer to Straumann publication /en, MRI Safety Information, at and selecting General Product Information at the top of the page. 8. Compatibility information Straumann implants and the prosthetic components are available in a variety of configurations to meet your clinical needs. The label on each product uses abbreviations to help you identify whether a particular abutment or coping is compatible with the implant that you are restoring. The implant as well as the prosthetic component contains an identifier for the connection type, summarized in the table below. Cleaning and Disinfection Straumann Variobase components are non-sterile when delivered. Before placing the restoration in the patient s mouth, the product must be cleaned, disinfected and sterilized. Straumann recommends the following procedure for cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of abutments prior to use: 1. Clean rinsing under flowing water while brushing outer and inner side with adequate brushes. 2. The pre-treated product is to be cleaned/disinfected in an automated washer disinfector. Select the appropriate program according to the manufacturer s instructions. 10. Sterilization The restoration may be sterilized unwrapped or can be placed in an accessory cassette and packaged twice in common sterilization wraps (paper/ film bags). Steam sterilize according to the following parameters: Material Method Conditions Variobase for Crown and Variobase for Crown AS, TAN Screw and Screw AS, TAN Autoclave (moist heat) Or Displacement: gravity or fractionated vacuum 134 C (273 F) 5 minutes Please note: User should ensure the use of the appropriate biological indicator for the sterilizer and parameters used. Please note: User should consult the coping/restoration material manufacturer s recommendations regarding sterilization. 11. Procedure Use and handling of the Straumann Variobase for the dental technician. Restoration design Make a coping or crown following standard procedure according to the material manufacturer s instructions. When using pressing or casting techniques via wax-up, use the burn-out coping for Variobase for Crown and Variobase for Crown AS which supports a clean and sharp-edged finish of the screw channel and a good fit to the Straumann Variobase for Crown and Variobase for Crown AS. When using a digital workflow, use the Straumann Variobase Implant Kit with any software platform, to facilitate the precise de- 2

3 sign of the interface between the Straumann Variobase for Crown and Variobase for Crown AS and the coping. The Straumann Variobase Implant Kit consists of an STL file containing the required milling template for the inner coping geometry. The Straumann Variobase can be processed with the digital and conventional workflow. A modified Straumann Variobase can only be processed with the conventional workflow. Please note: The following framework wall thickness guidelines must be followed: For ceramic materials a framework wall thickness 0.4 mm For polymer materials a framework wall thickness 0.5 mm Please note: The materials used to fabricate the coping must have a flexural strength between 91.5 MPa and 1007 MPa. Processing Process the coping or crown following standard procedure according to the material manufacturer s instructions. Always finalize the crown or coping prior to bonding to the Straumann Variobase for Crown and Variobase for Crown AS. Please note: It is not necessary to sandblast the Straumann Variobase a. Fix the abutment to the implant analog with a screw (hand-tight). b. Seal the screw channel with wax. c. Apply self-adhesive dental cement on the abutment. Only suitable self-adhesive cementation systems for the material used shall be used. Follow the instructions for use of both the dental material and cement/bonding material manufacturer. d. Bond the coping to the abutment. e. Immediately remove excess cement from the abutment and polish the lower margin of the coping after the cement is set. f. Optional: For cement retained restorations: Make a crown following standard procedure according to the material manufacturer s instructions and finalize it. g. Clean the restoration prior to sending it to the dentist. h. Include this instruction for use when sending the restoration to the dentist. Use and handling of the Straumann Variobase for Crown and Variobase for Crown AS for the Dentist. Remove the restoration from the master cast or the analog. Clean, disinfect and sterilize the device as described in sections 8 and 9 of this Instructions for Use document. Placing the restoration a. Remove the healing cap or temporary restoration. b. Clean and dry the interior of the implant and the abutment thoroughly. c. Place the sterilized restoration into the patient s mouth. d. Make sure that the retentive elements of the implant abutment connection are properly aligned. e. Use the screw delivered with the abutment to screw the abutment into the dental implant. Please note: Always ensure that the surfaces of threads and screw heads are clean and that a new screw is used for the restoration. f. Straumann abutments are fixed to the implant using the Straumann SCS screwdriver for the Variobase for Crown, the AS screwdriver for the Variobase for Crown AS, ratchet and torque control device. Close the screw channel with cotton and sealing compound (i.e., gutta-percha) h. Apply self-adhesive dental cement on the twopiece abutment. Only suitable self-adhesive cementation systems for the used materials shall be used. Follow the instructions for use of the cement/bonding material manufacturer. i. Bond the crown to the two-piece abutment. j. Immediately remove excess cement from the two-piece abutment. Warning Torque values greater than 35 Ncm may result in failure of the abutment and/or implant. Torque values less than the recommended values may result in loosening of the abutment, which may lead to abutment and/or implant failure. Please note Once the Straumann abutment has been secured to the implant using the indicated torque, it should not be removed. 12. Produktbeschreibung Sekundärteile Sekundärteile werden als Unterstützung für prothetische Rekonstruktionen wie Kronen und Brücken auf Zahnimplantate gesetzt. Basisschrauben Basisschrauben werden für die Fixierung des Sekundärteils im Dentalimplantat verwendet. 2. Vorgesehene Verwendung Direkt mit dem enossalen Dentalimplantat verbundene Prothetikkomponenten sind als Hilfsmittel für prothetische Versorgungen vorgesehen. 3. Indikationen Die Straumann Variobase ist eine Titanbasis, die auf Zahnimplantate von Straumann gesetzt wird, um individualisierte prothetische Versorgungen zu stützen. Die Straumann Variobase für Krone und die Straumann Variobase für Krone AL sind für verschraubte Einzelzahn- oder zementierte Einzelzahn- und Brückenversorgungen indiziert. 4. Kontraindikationen Mögliche Allergien oder eine Überempfindlichkeit des Patienten gegenüber den auf dem Produktetikett aufgeführten chemischen Bestandteilen sind zu berücksichtigen. Warnungen Zum Schutz vor Aspiration oder Verschlucken sind bei der intraoralen Handhabung der Straumann-Produkte geeignete Vorsichtsmassnahmen zu ergreifen. Das Nichtbefolgen der in dieser Anleitung beschriebenen Vorgehensweise kann zu einer oder allen der nachstehenden Komplikationen führen: Aspiration oder Verschlucken einer Komponente Bruch Infektion 6. Vorsichtsmassnahme Die Straumann Variobase ist ein Einmalartikel und darf nicht resterilisiert werden. Produkte unmittelbar nach der Sterilisation verwenden. Sterilisierte Produkte nicht lagern. Eine aseptische Handhabung ist unerlässlich. Unter keinen Umständen Komponenten verwenden, bei denen Verdacht auf Kontamination besteht. Jede Kontamination kann eine Infektion auslösen. Implantatgetragene prothetische Versorgungen dürfen nur in Okklusion eingesetzt werden, wenn das Implantat vollständig osseointegriert ist. Dentalzement oder andere Befestigungsmaterialien für Prothetikkomponenten müssen gemäss Herstelleranweisungen verarbeitet werden. Implantate dürfen nur mit dem entsprechenden originalen Sekundärteil restauriert werden, das mit dem jeweiligen Implantat kompatibel ist. Bei der Modifikation einer Straumann Variobase für Krone und einer Straumann Variobase für Krone AL mit anpassbarer Schafthöhe darf der Schnitt nicht unterhalb der Markierung ausgeführt werden, damit die Stabilität des Sekundärteils erhalten bleibt. Bei der Verwendung der Straumann Variobase für Krone AL in Verbindung mit Prothetikkomponenten, die in einem nicht validierten Workflow angefertigt wurden, ist Vorsicht geboten. Für solche Versorgungen wird eine Angulation von maximal 20 empfohlen. Bei einer grösseren Abwinkelung kann die ordnungsgemässe Funktion der Straumann Variobase für Krone AL nicht garantiert werden. 7. Informationen zur MR-Sicherheit (Magnetresonanztomographie) Diese Produkte sind aus einem Metallmaterial gefertigt, dass durch die Magnetfelder eines MRT-Systems beeinflusst werden kann. Kompatibilitätsinformationen Straumann-Implantate und die prothetischen Komponenten sind in einer Vielzahl von Konfigurationen für ein breites Spektrum klinischer Anforderungen erhältlich. Das Etikett auf jedem Produkt verwendet Abkürzungen, mit deren Hilfe Sie feststellen können, ob ein bestimmtes Sekundärteil oder eine Kappe mit dem zu versorgenden Implantat kompatibel ist. Das Implantat sowie die Prothetikkomponente sind durch einen Identifikator für die Verbindungsart markiert. Siehe die nachstehende Tabelle. Reinigung und Desinfektion Die Straumann Variobase und ihre Komponenten werden unsteril geliefert. Vor dem Einsetzen der prothetischen Versorgung in den Mund des Patienten muss das Produkt gereinigt, desinfiziert und sterilisiert werden. Straumann empfiehlt für die Reinigung, Desinfektion und Sterilisation von Sekundärteilen vor dem Gebrauch das nachstehende Verfahren: 1. Reinigung des Sekundärteils unter fliessendem Wasser durch Abbürsten der Aussen- und Innenseite mit einer geeigneten Bürste. 2. Anschliessend Reinigung und Desinfektion des vorbehandelten Produkts in einem automatischen Thermodesinfektor. Wählen Sie das geeignete Programm gemäss Herstelleranweisungen. 10. Sterilisation Die Prothetikkomponenten können unverpackt sterilisiert werden. Alternativ können Sie die Komponenten zweifach in herkömmliche Sterilisationshüllen (Papier-/Folienbeutel) einschlagen, in eine Zubehör-Kassette geben und sterilisieren. Die Dampfsterilisation erfolgt mit den nachstehenden Parametern: Material Verfahren Parameter Variobase für Krone und Variobase für Krone AL, TAN Schraube und Schraube AL, TAN Autoklav (feuchte Hitze) oder Fraktioniertes Vakuumverfahren oder Schwerkraftverdrängung 134 C 5 Minuten Hinweis: Stellen Sie die Verwendung eines für den Sterilisator und die eingestellten Parameter geeigneten biologischen Indikators sicher. Hinweis: Beachten Sie die für die Sterilisation relevanten Hinweise des Herstellers des Kappen- bzw. Prothetikmaterials. 5

6 11. Vorgehensweise Für den Zahntechniker: Verwendung und Handhabung der Straumann Variobase. Gestaltung der Restauration Stellen Sie nach dem Standardverfahren gemäss Gebrauchanweisung des Materialherstellers eine Kappe oder Krone her. Wird diese anhand eines Wax-up-Modells gepresst oder gegossen, verwenden Sie die ausbrennbare Kappe für Variobase für Krone und Variobase für Krone AL, um einen sauberen und scharfkantigen Endzustand des Schraubenkanals und einen guten Sitz auf der Straumann Variobase für Krone und der Variobase für Krone AL zu gewährleisten. Wenn Sie mit einem digitalen Workflow arbeiten, verwenden Sie das Straumann Variobase Implantat-Kit mit einer beliebigen Softwareplattform, um eine präzise Verbindung zwischen der Straumann Variobase für Krone und der Variobase für Krone AL und der Kappe zu gestalten. Das Straumann Variobase Implantat-Kit enthält eine STL-Datei, welche die erforderliche Frässchablone für die Innengeometrie der Kappe enthält. b. Verschliessen Sie den Schraubenkanal mit Wachs. c. Tragen Sie selbstadhäsiven Dentalzement auf das Sekundärteil auf. Es dürfen nur für die eingesetzten Materialien geeignete selbstadhäsive Zementierungssysteme verwendet werden. Befolgen Sie die Gebrauchsanweisung sowohl des Dentalmaterial- als auch des Zement-/Verklebematerialherstellers. d. Kleben Sie die Kappe auf das Sekundärteil. e. Entfernen Sie sofort überschüssigen Zement vom Sekundärteil und polieren Sie den unteren Rand der Kappe, wenn der Zement abgebunden hat. f. Optional: Für zementierte Versorgungen: Stellen Sie nach dem Standardverfahren und gemäss Gebrauchsanweisung des Materialherstellers eine Krone her und stellen Sie sie fertig. g. Reinigen Sie die Prothetik vor dem Versand an den Zahnarzt. h. Legen Sie diese Gebrauchsanweisung bei, wenn Sie die Prothetik an den Zahnarzt schicken. Für den Zahnarzt: Verwendung und Handhabung der Straumann Variobase für Krone und Variobase für Krone AL. Nehmen Sie die prothetische Versorgung vom Meistermodell oder Manipulierimplantat. Reinigen, desinfizieren und sterilisieren Sie die Versorgung wie in Abschnitt 8 und 9 dieser Gebrauchsanweisung beschrieben. Verschliessen Sie den Schraubenkanal mit Watte und einem geeigneten Verschlussmaterial (Guttapercha). h. Tragen Sie selbstadhäsiven Dentalzement auf das zweiteilige Sekundärteil auf. Es dürfen nur für die eingesetzten Materialien geeignete selbstadhäsive Zementierungssysteme verwendet werden. Befolgen Sie die Gebrauchsanweisung des Zement-/ Verklebematerialherstellers. i. Kleben Sie die Krone auf das zweiteilige Sekundärteil. j. Entfernen Sie sofort überschüssigen Zement vom zweiteiligen Sekundärteil. Warnung Ein Drehmoment von mehr als 35 Ncm kann zum Versagen von Sekundärteil und/oder Implantat führen. Ein Drehmoment unter den empfohlenen Werten kann zur Lockerung des Sekundärteils und in der Folge zum Versagen von Sekundärteil und/ oder Implantat führen. Die Straumann Variobase kann im digitalen und im konventionellen Workflow verarbeitet werden. Eine modifizierte Straumann Variobase kann hingegen nur im konventionellen Workflow verarbeitet werden. Hinweis: Die nachstehenden Richtlinien zur Mindestwandstärke müssen eingehalten werden: Bei Keramikmaterialien muss die Wandstärke 0,4 mm betragen. Bei Polymermaterialien muss die Wandstärke 0,5 mm betragen. Hinweis: Die für die Herstellung der Kappe benutzten Materialien müssen eine Biegefestigkeit zwischen 91,5 MPa und MPa aufweisen. Verarbeitung Verarbeiten Sie die Kappe oder Krone nach dem Standardverfahren gemäss Gebrauchsanweisung des Materialherstellers. Stellen Sie die Krone oder Kappe stets erst komplett fertig, bevor Sie diese mit der Straumann Variobase für Krone und Variobase für Krone AL verbinden. Hinweis: Es ist nicht notwendig, die Straumann Variobase abzustrahlen. a. Fixieren Sie das Sekundärteil mit einer Schraube am Manipulierimplantat (handfest). Einsetzen der prothetischen Versorgung a. Entfernen Sie die Einheilkappe bzw. das Provisorium. b. Reinigen und trocknen Sie die Innenverbindung des Implantats und das Sekundärteil gründlich. c. Setzen Sie die sterilisierte prothetische Versorgung in den Mund des Patienten. d. Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Retentionselemente der Implantat-Sekundärteil-Verbindung korrekt ausgerichtet sind. e. Verwenden Sie die mit dem Sekundärteil mitgelieferte Schraube, um das Sekundärteil in das Zahnimplantat zu schrauben. Hinweis: Stellen Sie stets sicher, dass die Oberflächen von Gewinden und Schraubenköpfen sauber sind und für die definitive Versorgung eine neue Schraube verwendet wird. f. Straumann -Sekundärteile werden mit dem Straumann SCS-Schraubendreher für die Variobase für Krone, dem AL Schraubendreher für die Variobase für Krone AL, der Ratsche und dem Drehmomentaufsatz am Implantat fixiert. Legen Sie das passende Drehmoment entsprechend der nachstehenden Tabelle an: Komponententyp Eindrehmoment Besondere Überlegungen Definitive 35 Ncm nicht zutreffend Sekundärteile Provisoriumssekundärteile Ncm Nur auf 35 Ncm anziehen, wenn das Implantat vollständig osseointegriert ist. Hinweis Ein einmal mit dem empfohlenen Drehmoment im Implantat gesichertes Straumann-Sekundärteil sollte nicht wieder entfernt werden. 12. Hinweise Zahnärzte müssen über entsprechende Kenntnisse und Informationen über die Handhabung des in diesem Dokument beschriebenen Straumann-Produkts ( Straumann-Produkt ) verfügen, um das Straumann-Produkt sicher und fachgerecht gemäss Gebrauchsanweisung zu verwenden. Das Straumann-Produkt ist gemäss der vom Hersteller bereitgestellten Gebrauchsanweisung zu verwenden. Es liegt in der Verantwortung des Zahnarztes, das Produkt gemäss Gebrauchsanweisung zu verwenden und in jedem Einzelfall zu prüfen, ob das Produkt für die individuelle Situation des Patienten geeignet ist. Straumann-Produkte sind Teil eines Gesamtkonzepts und ausschliesslich zusammen mit den entsprechenden Originalteilen und -instrumenten zu verwenden, die von der Institut Straumann AG, deren Muttergesellschaft und sämtlichen verbun- 6

Description du produit Parties secondaires Les parties secondaires se placent dans les implants dentaires pour assurer un soutien à des reconstructions prothétiques telles que des couronnes et bridges. Vis basales Les vis basales sont utilisées pour fixer la partie secondaire à l implant dentaire. 2. Utilisation prévue Les composants prothétiques directement connectés à l implant dentaire endo-osseux sont destinés à être utilisés comme auxiliaires pour les restaurations prothétiques. 3. Indications La Straumann Variobase est une base en titane qui se place sur des implants dentaires Straumann pour assurer un soutien à des reconstructions prothétiques personnalisées. La Straumann Variobase pour couronne et la Straumann Variobase pour couronne SA sont indiquées pour des restaurations de dent unique vissées ou scellées et pour des restaurations par bridge. 4. Contre-indications Examiner toutes les allergies ou hypersensibilités aux ingrédients chimiques potentielles, se référer à l étiquetage. Précaution La Straumann Variobase est un dispositif à usage unique et ne doit pas être restérilisé. Utiliser les dispositifs immédiatement après stérilisation. Ne pas stocker des dispositifs stérilisés. Une manipulation stérile est essentielle. Ne jamais utiliser des composants potentiellement contaminés. Une contamination peut provoquer une infection. Mettre en place des restaurations implanto-portées uniquement en occlusion lorsque l implant est totalement ostéo-intégré. Le ciment dentaire ou tout autre matériau utilisé pour fixer des composants prothétiques doit être traité conformément aux instructions du fabricant. Un implant doit être restauré exclusivement avec la partie secondaire originale correspondante compatible avec cet implant. Lors de la modification d une Straumann Variobase pour couronne et d une Straumann Variobase pour couronne SA avec des hauteurs de cheminée ajustable, ne pas couper à un niveau inférieur à la marque sur la partie secondaire afin de garantir la stabilité de la partie secondaire. Les utilisateurs doivent faire attention lorsqu ils utilisent la Straumann Variobase pour couronne SA avec des composants prothétiques réalisés selon une procédure de travail non validée. Pour de telles prothèses, une angulation maximale de 20 est recommandée. Pour des angulations plus importantes, on ne peut garantir une bonne fonctionnalité de la Straumann Variobase pour couronne SA. 7. Imagerie par résonance magnétique (IRM) Informations de sécurité Ces produits sont fabriqués à partir d un matériau métallique qui peut être affecté par l énergie IRM. Informations de compatibilité Les implants et les composants prothétiques Straumann sont disponibles en différentes configurations pour s adapter aux besoins cliniques. L étiquetage de chaque produit utilise des abréviations pour identifier si une partie secondaire ou une coiffe ou une couronne spécifique est compatible avec l implant utilisé pour la restauration. Les noms des implants et des composants prothétiques contiennent des identifiants du type de connexion qui sont résumés dans le tableau ci-après. Nettoyage et désinfection Les composants Straumann Variobase ne sont pas livrés stériles. Avant de placer la restauration dans la bouche du patient, le produit doit être nettoyé, désinfecté et stérilisé. Avant toute utilisation, Straumann recommande de suivre la procédure ci-après pour le nettoyage, la désinfection et la stérilisation de parties secondaires : 1. Rinçage propre sous l eau tout en brossant les faces interne et externe à l aide de brosses appropriées. 2. Le produit prétraité doit être nettoyé/désinfecté dans un appareil de lavage et désinfection automatique. Choisir le programme approprié conformément aux instructions du fabricant. 10. Stérilisation La restauration peut être stérilisée sans emballage ou placée dans une cassette pour accessoires et enveloppée deux fois dans un emballage pour stérilisation classique (sacs en papier/pellicule). Stériliser à l autoclave selon les paramètres suivants : Matériau Méthode Conditions Variobase pour couronne et Variobase pour couronne SA, TAN Vis et vis SA, TAN Autoclave (chaleur humide) Ou Déplacement : par gravité ou vide fractionné 134 C 5 minutes Remarque : Il incombe à l utilisateur d employer un indicateur biologique adapté au stérilisateur et aux paramètres utilisés. Remarque : L utilisateur doit consulter les recommandations du fabricant de la coiffe ou de la couronne et/ou du matériau de restauration concernant la stérilisation. 11. Procédure Utilisation et manipulation de la Straumann Variobase par le technicien dentaire. 8

9 Conception de la restauration Concevoir une coiffe ou une couronne en suivant la procédure standard conformément aux instructions du fabricant de matériaux. Dans le cas de techniques de pressage ou de coulée avec wax-up, utiliser la coiffe calcinable pour Variobase pour couronne et Variobase pour couronne SA qui garantit une finition propre, aux rebords nets, du canal de la vis et un bon ajustement à la Straumann Variobase pour couronne et à la Variobase pour couronne SA. Lors d une procédure de travail numérique, utiliser le kit d implant Straumann Variobase avec toute plate-forme logicielle, afin de faciliter une conception précise de l interface entre la Straumann Variobase pour couronne et la Variobase pour couronne SA et la coiffe. Le kit d implants Straumann Variobase consiste en un fichier STL contenant le modèle de fraisage requis pour la géométrie interne de la coiffe ou de la couronne. La Straumann Variobase peut être traitée selon un flux de travail numérique ou classique. Une Straumann Variobase modifiée peut être traitée selon un flux de travail classique uniquement. Remarque : Les directives suivantes relatives à l épaisseur des parois de la structure doivent être respectées : Pour les dispositifs en céramique, l épaisseur des parois de la structure doit être 0,4 mm Pour les dispositifs en polymère, l épaisseur des parois de la structure doit être 0,5 mm Remarque : Les matériaux utilisés pour fabriquer la coiffe doivent avoir une résistance à la flexion comprise entre 91,5 MPa et 1007 MPa. Traitement Concevoir une coiffe ou une couronne en suivant la procédure standard conformément aux instructions du fabricant. Toujours finaliser la couronne ou la coiffe avant sa liaison à la Straumann Variobase pour couronne ou Variobase pour couronne SA. Remarque : Il n est pas nécessaire de sabler la Straumann Variobase. a. Fixer la partie secondaire à l analogue d implant à l aide d une vis (serrage manuel). b. Obturer le canal de la vis avec de la cire. c. Appliquer du ciment dentaire auto-adhésif sur la partie secondaire. Employer exclusivement des systèmes de scellement auto-adhésifs adaptés au matériau utilisé. Respecter le mode d emploi du fabricant du matériau dentaire et du ciment / de l agent de liaison. d. Fixer la coiffe à la partie secondaire. e. Retirer immédiatement l excédent de ciment de la partie secondaire et polir le bord inférieur de la coiffe lorsque le ciment a pris. f. Facultatif : Pour les restaurations scellées : Concevoir une coiffe en suivant la procédure standard, conformément aux instructions du fabricant du matériau, puis la finaliser. g. Nettoyer la restauration avant de l envoyer au dentiste. h. Joindre ce mode d emploi à l envoi de la restauration au dentiste. L utilisation et la manipulation de la Straumann Variobase pour couronne et de la Variobase pour couronne SA pour le dentiste. Retirer la restauration du modèle en plâtre ou équivalent. Nettoyer, désinfecter et stériliser le dispositif selon les instructions données aux points 8 et 9 de ce mode d emploi. Pose de la restauration a. Retirer la coiffe de cicatrisation ou la restauration temporaire. b. Nettoyer et sécher soigneusement l intérieur de l implant et de la partie secondaire. c. Placer la restauration stérilisée dans la bouche du patient. d. S assurer que les éléments de rétention de la liaison implant-partie secondaire sont correctement alignés. e. Utiliser la vis fournie avec la partie secondaire ou la base en titane pour visser la restauration finale sur l implant dentaire. Remarque : Toujours contrôler que les surfaces des filetages et la tête de la vis sont propres et que l on utilise une vis neuve pour la mise en place de la couronne finale. f. Les parties secondaires Straumann sont fixées à l implant à l aide du tournevis Straumann SCS pour la Variobase pour couronne, le tournevis SA pour la Variobase pour couronne SA, la clé à cliquet et le dispositif dynamométrique. Suivre le mode d emploi du fabricant du matériau d obturation/de scellement. i. Fixer la couronne sur la partie secondaire à deux pièces. j. Éliminer immédiatement l excès de ciment de la partie secondaire à deux pièces. Avertissement Des valeurs de couple supérieures à 35 Ncm sont susceptibles d entraîner une défaillance de la partie secondaire et/ou de l implant. Des valeurs de couple inférieures à celles recommandées risquent d aboutir au détachement de la partie secondaire, ce qui peut entraîner une défaillance de la partie secondaire et/ou de l implant. Remarque Lorsque la partie secondaire Straumann a été fixée sur l implant avec le couple indiqué, elle ne peut plus être retirée. 12. Indicazioni Straumann Variobase per corona è una base in titanio inserita sugli impianti dentali Straumann per offrire supporto per i restauri protesici personalizzati. Straumann Variobase per corona e Straumann Variobase per corona SA sono indicati per singolo dente avvitato o cementato e per restauri a ponte. 4. Controindicazioni Prendere in considerazione eventuali possibili allergie o ipersensibilità ai componenti chimici. Consultare l etichetta. Quando si modifica Straumann Variobase per corona e Straumann Variobase per corona SA con altezza regolabile del camino, non tagliare al di sotto del contrassegno sulla componente secondaria per garantire stabilità della stessa. Prestare attenzione se si utilizza Straumann Variobase per corona SA con componenti protesiche realizzate con flusso di lavoro non validato. Per questa protesi si consiglia un angolazione di massimo 20. La corretta funzionalità di Straumann Variobase per corona SA non è garantita per angolazioni superiori. 7. Informazioni sulla sicurezza dell imaging a risonanza magnetica (MRI) Questi prodotti sono realizzati in un materiale metallico che può essere influenzato dall energia della risonanza magnetica. Pulizia e disinfezione Le componenti Straumann Variobase sono consegnate non sterili. Prima di posizionare il restauro nella cavità orale del paziente, il prodotto deve essere pulito, disinfettato e sterilizzato. Straumann consiglia la seguente procedura per la pulizia, disinfezione e sterilizzazione delle componenti secondarie prima dell uso: 1. Pulire e sciacquare sotto acqua corrente spazzolando verso l esterno e l interno con spazzole idonee. 2. Il prodotto pretrattato deve essere pulito/disinfettato in un apparecchio di lavaggio o disinfezione automatico. Selezionare il programma corretto in base alle istruzioni del produttore. 10. Sterilizzazione Il restauro può essere sterilizzato senza avvolgimenti oppure può essere inserito in una cassetta per accessori e confezionato due volte in fogli di sterilizzazione standard (sacchetti in carta/pellicola). Sterilizzare a vapore attenendosi ai seguenti parametri: Materiale Metodo Condizioni Variobase per corona e Variobase per corona SA, TAN Vite e vite SA, TAN Autoclave (calore umido) Oppure Spostamento: per gravità o vuoto frazionato 134 C 5 minuti Importante: L utente deve garantire l uso del corretto indicatore biologico per lo sterilizzatore e i parametri utilizzati. Importante: L utente deve consultare le raccomandazioni sulla sterilizzazione del materiale di restauro/delle cappette, fornite dal produttore. 11. Procedura Uso e gestione di Straumann Variobase per l odontotecnico. Progettazione del restauro Creare una cappetta o corona seguendo la procedura standard indicata dalle istruzioni per l uso del materiale del produttore. Quando si utilizzano tecniche di pressatura o fusione tramite wax-up, utilizzare la cappetta calcinabile per Variobase per corona e Variobase per corona SA che supporta una finitura pulita e 11

12 a bordi taglienti del canale della vite e un buon adattamento a Straumann Variobase per corona e Variobase per corona SA. Utilizzando un flusso di lavoro digitale, il kit implantare Straumann Variobase è idoneo per qualsiasi piattaforma software per facilitare la precisa progettazione dell interfaccia tra Straumann Variobase per corona e Variobase per corona SA e la cappetta. Il Kit implantare Straumann Variobase è costituito da un file STL contenente la mascherina di fresatura richiesta per la geometria interna della cappetta. Straumann Variobase può essere lavorato con flusso di lavoro digitale e convenzionale. Straumann Variobase modificato può essere lavorato solo con flusso di lavoro convenzionale. Importante: Attenersi alle seguenti linee guida per lo spessore della parete della struttura protesica: Per materiali ceramici uno spessore della parete della struttura protesica 0,4 mm Per materiali polimerici uno spessore della parete della struttura protesica 0,5 mm Importante: I materiali utilizzati per fabbricare la cappetta devono avere una resistenza alla flessione tra 91,5 MPa e 1007 MPa. Lavorazione Creare la cappetta o corona seguendo la procedura standard indicata dalle istruzioni per l uso del materiale del produttore. Finalizzare sempre la corona o cappetta prima del fissaggio a Straumann Variobase per corona e Variobase per corona SA. Importante: Non è necessario sabbiare Straumann Variobase. a. Fissare la componente secondaria all analogo di impianto con una vite (serrare a mano). b. Sigillare il canale della vite con cera. c. Applicare cemento dentale autoadesivo sulla componente secondaria. Utilizzare esclusivamente sistemi di cementazione autoadesivi per il materiale utilizzato. Seguire le rispettive istruzioni per l uso del produttore sia per il materiale dentale che per il materiale di cementazione/fissaggio. d. Fissare la cappetta alla componente secondaria. e. Rimuovere immediatamente il cemento in eccesso dalla componente secondaria e levigare il margine inferiore della cappetta dopo che il cemento si è indurito. f. Facoltativo: Per restauri cementati: Creare una corona seguendo la procedura standard indicata dalle istruzioni per l uso del materiale del produttore e finalizzarla. g. Pulire il restauro prima di inviarlo al dentista. h. Quando si invia il restauro al dentista, allegare le presenti istruzioni per l uso. Uso e gestione di Straumann Variobase per corona e Variobase per SA per il dentista. Rimuovere il restauro dal modello master o dall analogo di impianto. Pulire, disinfettare e sterilizzare il dispositivo come spiegato nelle sezioni 8 e 9 delle presenti istruzioni per l uso. Inserimento del restauro a. Rimuovere la cappetta di guarigione o il provvisorio. b. Pulire e asciugare accuratamente l interno dell impianto e della componente secondaria. c. Inserire la protesi sterilizzata nella bocca del paziente. d. Verificare che gli elementi di ritenzione della connessione impianto-componente secondaria siano correttamente allineati. e. Utilizzare la vite consegnata con la componente secondaria per avvitare quest ultima all impianto dentale. Importante: Verificare sempre che le superfici dei filetti e le teste delle viti siano pulite e che per il restauro venga utilizzata una nuova vite. f. Le componenti secondarie Straumann cono fissate all impianto mediante il cacciavite Straumann SCS per Variobase per corona, il cacciavite SA per Variobase per corona SA, cricchetto e componente dinamometrica aggiuntiva. Avvertenza Valori di torque superiori a 35 Ncm possono determinare l insuccesso della componente secondaria e/o dell impianto. Valori di torque inferiori ai valori consigliati possono determinare allentamento della componente secondaria, con possibile insuccesso della componente secondaria e/o dell impianto. Importante Una volta che la componente secondaria Straumann è stata fissata all impianto utilizzando il torque indicato, non deve essere rimossa. 12.
