Programme C1 business course Este módulo destina-se a estudantes com competências linguísticas em português de nível B2. O objectivo do módulo consiste em permitir aos estudantes aprofundar as respectivas competências da comunicação e o conhecimento do mundo sócio económico lusófono para comunicar de maneira eficaz em situações de carácter profissional a nível C1 business (de negócios ou empresarial). As actividades propostas visam reforçar as competências morfo-sinctáticas, lexicais, comunicativas, pragmáticas e culturais. Please remind that the Portuguese program will focus on the European standard (Portuguese spoken in Portugal), even if there will be constant hints to the Brazilian and African linguistic rules, in order to show students the main differences among the three varieties of Portuguese. At the end of their study, students should be able to understand the Brazilian/African educated speech and recognize the differences in the pronunciation. Therefore, during the exam students may be faced with texts (oral and written) referring to these three varieties of Portuguese. Temas e situações Estrutura económica nacional (emprego em Portugal: indicadores económicos; exportações). As trocas internacionais os parceiros europeus e africanos de Portugal. Recursos humanos. Fases de criação da empresa (elaboração do projecto, plano de marketing, plano financeiro e jurídico). A Escola e o mercado de trabalho em Portugal: relações universidade/indústria e universidade/empresas (investigação, desenvolvimento e inovação). A empresa, a sociedade e a ética. A empresa e o ambiente Actividades/Treino das competências de comunicação A partir de textos e material diversificado (escrito, áudio) relativos ao mundo empresarial, prevê-se o treino das competências de compreensão e expressão escritas e orais. Os exercícios para aplicar e desenvolver tais competências poderão ser de diversa tipologia: - Questionários de compreensão do texto com respostas longas, ou do tipo Verdadeiro/Falso e respostas múltiplas; - Comentários de esquemas a gráficos - Produção de breves textos sobre temáticas empresariais; Tais actividades deverão permitir a revisão e consolidação das estruturas da língua já adquiridas nos níveis anteriores. A nível lexical, prevê-se aquisição de vocabulário especifico relativos aos vários domínios temáticos tratados. 2

C1 business exam The exam consists of a written paper and an oral exam. The oral exam can only be taken once the written exam has been passed (minimum mark 18/30). The pass in the written exam is valid for three oral exams subsequent to the written exam; if the student does not take the oral exam within this time limit the written exam will need to be taken again. Students can chose to retake the written exam before the taking the oral exam but must remember that handing in their paper annuls any previous grade given. Students must enroll for all the exams via the Punto Blu. Written exam The written exam is divided in two parts, the first is listening, the second reading comprehension. The final grade is the total score from the two in thirtieths. Duration of exam: 150 minutes. Both mono- and bi-lingual dictionaries can be used. Description of exam stages First part Listening to two passages (e.g. advertisements, brochures, news items containing instructions for use, information, data, opinions). In particular: Listening to first passage pause repeat listening to first passage and longer pause while exercises are completed; Listening to second passage pause repeat listening to second passage and 120 minutes for the completion of the written exam Objective To verify: - with the first passage, oral comprehension and the capacity to make accurate notes about facts and figures heard; - with the second passage, ability to refer/report correctly, in a structured text, the information and opinions contained in the passage. Exam First passage - Sentence and/or table completion; true/false questions; multiple choice questions, matching items, open or closed questions. Second passage Writing a short text letter/report following the instructions given. 15/30 Second part Objective Exam Reading comprehension of one or more authentic texts, possibly containing graphs, tables and images. To verify: -Correct understanding of written texts; -ability to report accurately in a structured and coherent written form the information expressed Writing a text (e.g. a summary, a report, a letter) on the topic given 15/30 Oral exam The oral exam is in two parts: presentation and discussion. The student brings a dossier of at least 3 articles on one of the topics in the syllabus and approved by the teacher, and another subject is chosen during the exam by the examiner. These are then discussed. It is indispensable that the above-mentioned items are prepared thoroughly for the oral exam and students are advised to prepare themselves well in advance of the date.
