Answer questions about the legal aspects of computing, industrial property and the current legislation of computer engineering. Review and opine on ethical aspects of the profession. COHERENCE BETWEEN PROGRAMME AND OBJECTIVES Programme items 1, 2 and 3 allow students to be able to describe and understand concepts of the Information Society, computer law and intellectual property. The content on the legal aspect of computing and intellectual property rights allows students to identify the potential and the risks associated with the Information Society, to adhere to a strict ethical code programme in accordance with confidentiality rules, privacy and proprietary matters. Items 4 and 5 identify the gains and the role of IT and computer engineer in the performance of commercial and educational activities. Item 6, on emerging technologies, permits students to identify the latest technologies. Página 2

Theory is presented in seminars by guest specialists in the area. These seminars complement some lecture examples, using interactive methods between teacher and students (use of videos, self-reflection and contrasting case studies). Students must also submit practical assignments. Students select their assessment from the following: Ongoing assessment one written test + assignments; Página 3

4 or Exam one written test (100%) including students who did not reach a minimum 10/20 in ongoing assessment. 6. COHERENCE BETWEEN TEACHING METHODOLOGIES AND OBJECTIVES To acquire the student objectives, skills and knowledge in the field of social aspects of the computer, the program is divided into two parts using different teaching methodologies. Theoretical concepts are presented (in seminars) to the students. Theory is presented with the support of some examples using interactive ways between teacher and students (use of videos, self-reflection and contrasting case studies). In a second part, a practical component like assignments is used, where the student should investigate and develop a topic.
