OBJETIVOS DE APRENDIZAGEM (CONHECIMENTOS, APTIDÕES E COMPETÊNCIAS A DESENVOLVER PELOS ESTUDANTES) LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE CURRICULAR UNIT Objetivos: Adquirir e desenvolver competências instrumentais e analíticas em matéria de investigação social; Compreender e elaborar, sob acompanhamento tutorial, as diferentes etapas de realização de um projeto de investigação social; Desenvolver a capacidade reflexiva sobre a investigação social na intervenção profissional do Assistente Social Competências: Identificação de um objeto de investigação e estruturar uma problematização; Eleição de uma estratégia de investigação adequada à pesquisa a efetuar; Caracterização e seleção de determinados métodos e técnicas para posterior coleta e análise de dados empíricos; Realizar um processo de revisão de literatura;

2 Elaboração de um projeto de investigação social; Escrita académica. Objectives: To consolidate and develop instrumental and analytical competencies on social research; To understand and execute, under tutorial support, the different phases of a social research project construction; To develop reflexive skills concerning social research within social worker professional intervention. Competences: To identify a research object and to structure a research problematic; To identify and select a research strategy adequate for the proposed project; To understand a process of data collection and analysis; To prepare a literature review process; To undertake a social research project; To develop academic writing skills. 6. CONTEÚDOS PROGRAMÁTICOS SYLLABUS O Seminário de Investigação I privilegia a elaboração de um projeto de investigação social, com vista à obtenção e desenvolvimento de conhecimentos e competências em matéria de elaboração de trabalhos científicos. 1 A investigação em ciências sociais e em serviço social Investigação e atitude investigativa Investigação em serviço social: lugar, funções e particularidades Investigação em serviço social: diferentes perspetivas e modelos Diferentes posturas epistemológicas da investigação em ciências sociais 2 - Construção de um objeto de estudo Definição de um problema e construção de questões de investigação Fundamentação das opções iniciais Estabelecimento de objetivos de investigação 3 - Construção de um quadro teórico e desenho de investigação empírico Pesquisa bibliográfica Definição de conceitos Redação de um quadro teórico de referência

3 Perspetivas de operacionalização da pesquisa This seminar privileges the execution of a social research project, as a strategy to obtain and to develop skills and knowledge regarding the completion of a scientific work. 1 - Research in social sciences and in social work Research and research attitude; Research in social work: place functions and particularities; Research in social work: perspectives and models; Different epistemological stands in social sciences research. 2 - The construction of a research object Problem definition and the construction of research questions Justification of initial options; The establishment of research goals. 3 - The construction of a theoretical framework Bibliographical research; Definition of concepts; Writing a theoretical framework; Views on research operationality. 7. METODOLOGIA DE ENSINO (AVALIAÇÃO INCLUÍDA) TEACHING METHODOLOGIES (INCLUDING EVALUATION) Ensino: A unidade curricular assenta numa pedagogia focada no processo de aprendizagem dos estudantes, fomentando a pró-atividade, pesquisa e autoaprendizagem dos estudantes. A unidade privilegiará métodos ativos de ensino-aprendizagem, momentos de exposição e aprofundamento de conteúdos específicos pelo docente. Apresentação da programação dos conteúdos programáticos, atividades e produtos intermédios a realizar pelos estudantes. A plataforma Moodle funcionará como suporte de apoio ao ensino-aprendizagem. Avaliação: 1. O Seminário é de presença obrigatória, sem prejuízo das normas relativas à frequência definidas no Regulamento de Avaliação da FCH 2. A avaliação do Seminário segue o modelo de avaliação contínua 3. A avaliação terá por base os seguintes instrumentos de avaliação: Trabalho Final de Projeto de Investigação (50%) Trabalho Final preliminar e sua apresentação oral em Seminário (20 %)

4 Produtos Intermédios (trabalhos preparatórios programados) (30 %) Qualquer evidência de plágio será punida com a atribuição de zero ao elemento de avaliação que tenha utilizado indevidamente textos de terceiros. Teaching: The Seminar proceeds a pedagogy centered on the learning process of students, stimulating their initiative, research capacity and self-learning. The curricular unity will privilege active teaching-learning methods, though there will be moments of lectures delivered by the professor. The programme of activities will be established, as well as the intermediate assignments for students. Moodle will be used to support learning. Evaluation: Attendance to the Seminar is compulsory. The evaluation is continuous. The evaluation assignments are: Final Research Project (50%) Preliminary presentation of the research (20%) Intermediate assignments (scheduled preparatory documents) (30%) Any evidence of plagiarism is a disciplinary offense and will result in a penalty.
