Programa de Mestrado e Doutorado em Administração - PMDA Mestrado em Administração Disciplina: ANÁLISE INSTITUCIONAL E ORGANIZAÇÕES Carga horária: 45 horas-aula Créditos: 3 PROGRAMA DA DISCIPLINA I. Objetivos Nas últimas décadas a teoria institucional, em especial aquela de tradição sociológica, vem ocupando espaço crescente nos estudos organizacionais. Em suas proposições as idéias de sistemas de crenças e representações coletivas, de instituições e institucionalização, de isomorfismo e legitimidade, de estabilidade e mudança de padrões culturais são fundamentais para se entender o comportamento organizacional. Nesse contexto, destaque especial deve ser dado às diferentes concepções de instituições e institucionalização, bem como aos fenômenos de desinstitucionalização e reinstitucionalização. Desse modo, o objetivo geral desta disciplina é contribuir para o desenvolvimento do universo conceitual e da capacidade analítica dos participantes relativamente ao processo de estruturação organizacional, as razões pelas quais as organizações surgem, as formas que assumem e as estratégias que adotam, e as relações interorganizacionais. Em suma: a imersão social das organizações em um contexto institucionalizado. II. Ementa Origens da teoria institucional: ciência política, economia e sociologia. O velho e o novo institucionalismo: fases ou facetas. Desenvolvimento da teoria institucional na sociologia. A teoria institucional e o estudo das organizações. Racionalidade e sistemas socioculturais: concepções e controvérsias. Organizações como sistemas socioculturais. Imersão social das organizações: Estado, mercado, sociedade e cultura. Organizações e ambiente: ambiente técnico e institucional, níveis de análise, campo organizacional. Pilares institucionais: regulativo, normativo e culturalcognitivo. Mecanismos isomórficos: coercitivo, normativo e mimético. Legitimidade, dominação e poder. Atores sociais, agência e instituições. Persistência e mudança organizacional e institucional. Respostas organizacionais estratégicas, 1
empreendedorismo institucional e institutional work. Institucionalização e mudança institucional. Lógica e complexidade institucional. Institucionalismo e política. III. Metodologia O programa será desenvolvido com base em aulas dialogadas, apresentações e debates. A interação e a troca de ideias entre os participantes da disciplina são consideradas especialmente relevantes. A cada aula serão discutidos os respectivos temas, que poderão ser articulados em atividades dirigidas. Verificação de leituras: Para todas as aulas, os alunos, individualmente, discorrerão acerca da leitura obrigatória indicada no plano de ensino. A atividade será realizada sempre no início de cada aula a partir de questões elaboradas pelo(s) docente(s). Não haverá possibilidade de consulta ao material durante essa atividade. Os trabalhos poderão ou não ser considerados válidos, a critério dos professores e de acordo com a qualidade das respostas apresentadas. Tarefas adicionais poderão ser solicitadas a qualquer tempo pelo(s) professor(es) no decorrer na disciplina. Leituras e apresentação de textos: Para cada aula, espera-se que os alunos façam a leitura prévia dos textos indicados, com prioridade para aqueles indicados como leitura obrigatória. A cada aula, um ou mais alunos poderá ser escolhido para apresentar e comentar os textos indicados como leitura recomendada. Cada apresentação deverá ter duração de até 15 minutos, devendo os responsáveis: (i) expor de maneira organizada os aspectos centrais do(s) texto(s) indicado(s); (ii) atender às questões orientadoras quando demandadas pelos professores; (iii) promover questionamentos que incentivem o debate em sala e, (iv) indicar pontos de reflexão referentes à associação do(s) texto(s) indicado(s) e o conteúdo da disciplina. Instruções mais detalhadas serão informadas no decorrer do curso. Participação nos debates: A participação nos debates é critério de avaliação e dela depende a qualidade da aula. Por isso, recomenda-se que os alunos venham preparados para a aula, munidos de questões provocativas acerca da leitura e que poderão ser utilizadas para o debate sobre o tema. Presença: A presença nas aulas reflete o comprometimento do aluno com a disciplina, além de ser fundamental para o bom andamento das leituras e atividades correspondentes às aulas. Ausências impactarão negativamente o desempenho e o conceito final na disciplina. Ensaios, réplica e tréplica: Na metade e ao final da disciplina, os alunos deverão produzir e entregar ensaio sobre o conteúdo tratado nas aulas, no qual exponham 2
posicionamento fundamentado acerca do tema escolhido. O ensaio, posteriormente, será alvo de réplica elaborada por outro aluno integrante da turma. Fechando o ciclo, a réplica retornará ao autor do ensaio que deverá redigir tréplica com base nos comentários recebidos e no posicionamento defendido no ensaio. A qualidade dos trabalhos levará em consideração a capacidade de o aluno incorporar e articular textos lidos nas aulas precedentes. O ensaio deverá ter entre 2500 a 3500 palavras. As réplicas e tréplicas deverão ter de 1500 a 2000 palavras. É desejável que se façam citações a textos indicados para a disciplina, os quais deverão estar referenciados ao final do trabalho (obs.: as referências não são contabilizadas na contagem de palavras dos trabalhos). Não haverá possibilidade de entrega após as datas indicadas. Seminários: Em aulas específicas um ou mais alunos ficará responsável pela apresentação de seminário temático. Cada apresentação deverá ter duração aproximada de 60 minutos, podendo variar em função das intervenções. O seminário deverá: (i) assegurar exposição organizada dos aspectos centrais do tema, consolidados a partir da literatura indicada no programa; (ii) promover questionamentos que incentivem o debate em sala e, (iii) indicar outros trabalhos de natureza teórico-empírica sobre o respectivo tema. Sempre que um grupo de alunos ficar responsável pelo seminário, outro grupo deverá trazer questões para serem debatidas ao longo da apresentação. IV. Avaliação A avaliação será realizada com base nos seguintes critérios: a) Presença em aula: (de -5 pontos a zero) b) Contribuição aos debates, apresentação de textos e outras atividades em sala: até 10 pontos. c) Verificação de leitura: até 15 pontos. d) Ensaio, réplica e tréplica: até 60 pontos. e) Seminários: até 15 pontos. Não haverá atividade substitutiva para o caso de ausências em aulas com tarefas previamente designadas ao aluno. Com relação aos trabalhos escritos e participação em aula, admite-se como sendo efetiva quando houver clareza na mensagem, expressando o entendimento de conceitos e sua articulação com ideias associadas à disciplina ou temas em questão. Além disso, quando indicar domínio, identificação de aspectos chaves e 3
