3 APRESENTAÇÃO / Introduction A São Paulo Turismo (SPTuris) realiza pesquisas semestrais junto aos meios de hospedagens paulistanos, em hotéis e hostels, com o objetivo de identificar o perfil de seus hóspedes, conhecendo sua procedência, gênero, permanência, motivação da viagem e principais gastos na cidade de São Paulo, entre outras variáveis. O Observatório do Turismo coordena essas atividades de investigação em duas etapas anuais, comparando com períodos anteriores, os resultados mais significativos da demanda geral de turistas, segmentada para hóspedes brasileiros e estrangeiros. Nessa edição foram incluídas informações sobre residentes da cidade de São Paulo, notados durante os finais de semana nos hotéis. As informações completas encontram-se no banco de dados do núcleo de estudos e pesquisas da empresa oficial do turismo e eventos da cidade de São Paulo. Estão assinaladas, ao final deste documento, as taxas médias e respectivas diárias obtidas mensalmente, com a colaboração dos hotéis e hostels da capital, a quem prestamos nossos especiais agradecimentos. Incluimos também nosso reconhecimento ao Fórum dos Operadores Hoteleiros do Brasil (FOHB) pela participação nesta pesquisa. São Paulo Turismo (SPTuris) conducts semiannual surveys at São Paulo s lodging facilities, aiming to identify the profile of their guests, by getting to know their origin, gender, length of stay, main motivation of travel and spending in the city, among other varibles. The Observatório do Turismo coordinates this inquiry and compare the most significant results, divided by general, Brazilian and foreign profiles, with the ones of previous editions of the survey. In this edition, we included information about residents of the city of São Paulo, accommodated in hotels during the weekends. All the results can be found in the database of the Observatório. At end of this publication are presented the monthly average occupancy and daily rates obtained with the collaboration of hotels and hostels of the city, to whom we provide our special thanks. We include also our gratitude to the Fórum dos Operadores Hoteleiros do Brasil (FOHB) for its participation in this research METODOLOGIA / Methodology Hotéis: abordagem realizada diretamente com os hóspedes (check out) em 44 estabelecimentos (8.183 UH s). Durante o período de 20 de maio a 18 de junho foi coletado um total de fichas válidas. Hostels: abordagem realizada diretamente com os hóspedes/turistas em 18 estabelecimentos (647 UH s). Durante o mesmo período foi totalizada uma coleta de 286 fichas válidas. Hotels: approach performed directly with the guests during their check out in 44 lodging facilities (8,183 housing units). During the period May 20th to June 18th, 1,919 valid questionnaires were filled. Hostels: approach performed directly with the guests/tourists in 18 establishments (647 housing units). Esse percurso anterior ou posterior não é necessariamente direto com sua cidade origem. Entre os destinos mais expressivos nessa rodada centralizada na capital paulista, destacam-se algumas cidades dos Estados Unidos, da Argentina e do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Outras localidades encontram-se pulverizadas, dificultando a visualização de um fluxo mais nítido. From various origins, the foreigners guests show maximize their travel motivations, some coming or going to another destination beyond the city of São Paulo. This last or next journey is not necessarily directly from their city home. Among the destinations mentioned by the guests, the highlights are some cities of the United States, Argentina and the State of Rio de Janeiro. Em caráter experimental, com necessidade de novas investigações, a análise indica aumento do gênero feminino com interesse pela oferta de lazer e entretenimento. Supõe-se que esta constatação esteja atrelada a promoções específicas de equipamentos hoteleiros nos finais de semana da cidade de São Paulo. A segment that attracted attention in this research are the residents from the city of São Paulo, using the services of the hotel, especially from Thursday to Sunday. Experimentally, in need of further researchs, the analysis indicates an increase in female interest in the leisure and entertainment offer. 13 DESTAQUES / Highlights Os gastos de viagem do total dos turistas obtidos na pesquisa do primeiro semestre de 2012 são maiores que os de 2011, ou seja, um valor médio no período da viagem de R$ 1.354,46, correspondendo a uma média diária de R$ 501,65. O motivo predominante apontado pelos viajantes continua sendo negócios, seguido por eventos (somam 70,9%). O lazer vem a seguir (14,3%), maior do que 2011 (12,5%). Na totalidade dos turistas, os que permanecem mais um dia apontam a vida noturna (24,1%) e compras (20,7%) como as razões principais desse aumento de jornada na cidade. Não considerando os turistas do Brasil, com majoritária incidência (84,4%), os principais emissores para a cidade de São Paulo são: EUA, Argentina, França, Alemanha, Chile. Registros gerais apontam uma sazonalidade semanal considerando a segunda feira (20,2%) com maior check-in dos hóspedes; e a sexta-feira (22,1%) no caso do ckeck-out. Observa-se no período, significativo número de hóspedes, residentes na cidade, motivados por finais de semana nos hotéis, entrando na sexta-feira (19,9%) e sábado (18%), e deixando o estabelecimento no sábado (23,5%) e domingo (17,1%). The tourist s travel expenses, collected in the survey of the first half of 2012, are higher than those obtained in 2011, resulting in an average of BRL 1, during the stay, with a daily average of BRL The predominant reason of travel continues to be Business followed by Events (both sum up to 70.9% of the total). Leisure comes in third (14.3%), though higher than in Tourists who decide to stay one more day in the city chose Nightlife (24.1%) and Shopping (20.7%) as the main reasons for this increase in the stay. Besides the tourists coming from other areas of Brazil (84.4%), foreign tourists come mainly from the USA, Argentina, France, Germany and Chile. Records indicate Monday as the day of the week with greater guests check in (20.2%) and Friday with more occurrences of check outs (22.1%). It is observed a significant number of residents of São Paulo as guests in lodging facilities, during weekends, checking in on Friday (19.9%) or Saturday (18%), and leaving the establishment on Saturday (23,5%) or Sunday (17,1%).
