Cepik 2002 / 1 o semestre Teoria de Relações Internacionais - TRI I Introdução: Nesse curso serão estudadas algumas das principais obras que estruturam o debate contemporâneo no campo da Teoria das Relações Internacionais (TRI). Dado o contexto institucional do programa de pósgraduação em Ciência Política da UFMG, decidi utilizar os capítulos de um volume bastante conhecido na área de RI como roteiro geral (Dougherty e Pfaltzgraff, 1997), verticalizando o estudo das obras selecionadas de acordo com o programa (num total de cinco seminários). O livro utilizado como guia de viagem da disciplina trata não apenas de tradições teóricas mais abrangentes, tais como o realismo ou o funcionalismo, mas também discute teorias de alcance médio sobre vários fenômenos relevantes, desde a guerra até a integração econômica. Algo assim também ocorre com os seminários. Enquanto três dos seminários estão focados em correntes teóricas (neorealismo; escola inglesa; institucionalismo liberal) outros dois priorizam fenômenos/autores considerados essenciais para uma compreensão adequada dos problemas de relações internacionais (Clausewitz e a guerra; horizontes normativos e empíricos para a teoria das relações internacionais após o final da Guerra Fria). O curso não tem a pretensão de ser exaustivo, ou sequer compreensivo o bastante em relação às várias correntes de pensamento no campo da TRI. As ênfases escolhidas decorrem das preferências e/ou curiosidades do professor e são relativamente arbitrárias. Na medida do possível, para os alunos interessados serão indicados textos e autores de outras correntes de pensamento, não contemplados no curso. II - Procedimentos didáticos: Estão previstas quinze semanas de trabalho, com um encontro de três horas-aula em cada semana. As aulas serão expositivas, mas espera-se uma participação ativa dos alunos e a leitura prévia dos materiais indicados. A avaliação será feita através de dois mecanismos: 1) um trabalho escrito (entre 10 e 20 páginas) sobre algum tema relacionados com o curso, previamente aprovados pelo professor; 2) apresentação oral e resenha (entre 03 a 10 páginas) de um dos livros/textos indicados para os seminários do curso). Nos cinco seminários previstos serão atribuídas tarefas para cada estudante relativas `a apresentação oral, bem como à resenha de algum autor/obra. O trabalho final com tema livre valerá até 40 pontos, enquanto a apresentação oral do texto selecionado valerá 30 pontos e a resenha escrita valerá 30 pontos. As datas para entrega dos trabalhos serão acertadas em acordo com a turma. Atraso na entrega de qualquer uma das tarefas implicará em nota zero para aquela versão.
