2 Dear Mr. President, The Portuguese Federation of Sportive Fishing has the honour and the grateful pleasure to invite the National Team and one or two clubs representatives of your Country to take part in the 11 th Sea Float Angling European Championship, to be held from September 13 th to 17 th in Portugal. Portugal is, as you may know, a warm and welcoming country and a place where sportive fishing is a sport of choice for thousands of Portuguese people, people who devote to this event and feel an enormous pride and gratitude for your attendance. 3 Dear Mr. President, In September, there will be held in, the 11 th Sea Float Angling European Championship. Nothing that is a surprise to me. is, since a long time ago, a land of fishermen and women, a tradition that defines us far beyond the sportive aspect of fishing. We have Paço de Arcos, a village where fishing was, and still is, a way of subsistence. It got in our gills the appreciation for the art of taking fishes from the seas and rivers. Looking at the geography of the county, nothing seems more normal to me, we have 9km of coast and more than 5km of Seafront Promenade which works as a balcony to the place where the river makes itself sea. A balcony that translates itself in more and better accesses to the water, natural habitat that we want to reach for. And if the recuperation of the of the Riverside translates itself into a bigger bond between the people and their river, it also reflects best conditions to the practice of Sportive Fishing. It s part of our horizon the fishermen/woman in their typical silence, contemplating the Tejo. An element that interconnects with the landscape. Like the person who invites a friend to their home and grants him the best sit at the living room, we also provide all the participants in this European Championship our landscape legacy which we turn in a comfortable and delightful place so that they can withdraw from the Rio Tejo the best specimens (which should then be returned to their natural habitat). In the practice of Sportive Fishing there is a place for baits, in this invitation there isn t. Come and enjoy this Seaside that is also yours. Paulo Vistas President of TownHouse

10 Organizational system of the European Championship One or two clubs and the national team will have the chance to represent their country in the 11 th Sea Float Angling European Championship. The championship will be disputed simultaneously (clubs and national teams). This championship will be held in the location indicated previously of obligatory stay abd the weighing will be done in the same place. Inscriptions: The inscriptions should be made directly to: Lisboa phone secretaria@fppd.pt The inscription in charge of FPPD, will include: accommodation, alimentation and baits. Classification will be accordingly with FIPS-M regulations. Fisherman behaviour It is obligatory the use of Keep Net to maintain the fishes alive and return the alive after the weighing. The anglers can only fish with one rod but they can have some others already prepared in reserve. Only one (1) hook is authorized during the fishing. Only the baits and ground-baits given by the organization are authorized. All the omissions will be solved according to FIPS-M rules. FIPS-M Rules:
