LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE CURRICULAR UNIT: Digital Cinematography, Audio and Video edition (BASICS) - Digital cinematography is about theoretical and practical principles of video camera operation and lighting. Sound recording is about acoustics and use of different type of microphones and practice of sound recording. Video editing is about the basics of non linear video edition and the theorical principles of continuity edit. CONTEÚDOS PROGRAMÁTICOS: Esta cadeira aborda os princípios teóricos e práticos de operação de câmara e iluminação seguido da pós-produção vídeo. Existem aulas teóricas e depois as turmas subdividem-se para ter aulas práticas estruturadas da seguinte forma: Quatro aulas (12 Horas) dedicadas a aulas teóricas sobre câmara e iluminação Quatro aulas (12 Horas) dedicadas a aulas práticas sobre operação de câmara e iluminação Temas abordados: - Operação da câmara - Conhecimentos fundamentais de direção de fotografia em interior e exteriores - Princípios teóricos e operação de equipamentos de luz em estúdio e controle de imagem em régie multicamara Uma aula (3 horas) teórica sobre edição de vídeo Cinco aulas (15 horas) práticas sobre edição de vídeo Temas abordados: - Noção de racord - As regras que condicionam a posição da câmara e a colagem de planos - Distinguir o que é e quando se usa preferencialmente a edição on-line, off-line, linear e não linear; Saber operar uma edição não linear de vídeo. SYLLABUS: This discipline covers theoretical and practical principles of operation of camera and lighting followed by post-production video. There are lectures and classes then subdivided to have practical classes structured as follows: Four Theoretical classes (12 Hours) dedicated to lighting and camera Four practical lessons (12 hours) devoted to camera operation and lighting Topics covered: - Operating the camera - Fundamental knowledge of cinematography in interior and exterior - Theoretical Principles and operation of light equipment in the studio and image control in multi camera environment One Theoretical lesson 1 (3 hours) about video editing Five practical lessons (15 hours) about video editing Topics covered: - Notion of racord and continuity - The rules that constrain the camera position and forms to increase continuity - Distinguish what is and preferably when you use the online offline editing, linear and non-linear; Know how to operate a non-linear video editing. 2/6

DEMONSTRATION OF THE SYLLABUS COHERENCE WITH THE CURRICULAR UNIT'S OBJECTIVES: Composition of a team picture and their functions Programme lectures on composition and division of functions Know how to operate a camera Programme lectures / practices on: - Operation of the Camcorder Fundamental knowledge of the direction of photography Program theory and practical classes on: - The division of functions the distinction between soft and hard light; equipment; filters and color temperature. Practical exercise in class to: - Scene in the interior with natural light and artificial light - Record an interview - Troubleshooting of outdoor lighting Distinguish between assembly and editing and production capabilities of meaning that can be obtained through the use of assembly Programme: Processes are exposed to manipulate time and space sense images; Know the functions and workflow stages of post-production video Programme: Identification of technical and production phases of the post-production video METODOLOGIAS DE ENSINO (AVALIAÇÃO INCLUÍDA): Objetivo: Para descrever e identificar conceitos, processos e organização do trabalho. Método: O método de ensino usa aulas expositivas Objetivo: Para perceber como se faz e qual as etapas do trabalho usadas em diferentes tipos de produção. Método: São feitas aulas práticas onde o aluno experimenta, sob a orientação dos professores iluminar três tipos de cenas. Avaliação: A avaliação desta disciplina é periódica. O aluno tem aproveitamento quando obtêm nota igual ou superior a 10. A média final da disciplina obtém-se com a seguinte ponderação: - Exame escrito final 28% - Assiduidade 16 % - Exercícios de câmara e iluminação 28 % - Edição de exercícios feitos na aula e da curta-metragem 28 % No caso dos alunos com estatuto Trabalhador-Estudante, a percentagem correspondente à assiduidade será distribuída pelos restantes elementos de avaliação. 4/6
TEACHING METHODOLOGIES (INCLUDING EVALUATION): Objective: To describe and identify concepts, processes and work organization. Method: The method of teaching using lectures Objective: To understand how to do and what the job steps used in different types of production. Method: practical classes where the student experiences under the guidance of teachers illuminate three types of scenes are made. Assessment: Assessment of this course is periodic. The student must use when they get a grade equal to or greater than 10. The mean final discipline is obtained with the following weighting: - Written Exam 28% Final - Attendance 16% - Exercises of camera and lighting 28% - Editing exercises done in class and 28% short film For students with student-worker status, the percentage of the attendance will be distributed among the remaining elements of evaluation. DEMONSTRAÇÃO DA COERÊNCIA DAS METODOLOGIAS DE ENSINO COM OS OBJETIVOS DE APRENDIZAGEM DA UNIDADE CURRICULAR: As aulas expositivas são necessárias para a exposição de conceitos e processos de trabalho. O visionamento e análise de casos práticos são usados para constatar na prática como é que os conceitos teóricos são aplicados nos programas vídeo de diferentes géneros. As três aulas práticas são efetuadas com o objetivo de os alunos puderem participar em ambiente supervisionado em três tipos de gravação em que a equipa se organiza de modo diferente e usa diferentes equipamentos. Os exercícios individuais produzidos pelo aluno permitem cada aluno a praticar a operação de camara, iluminação e edição de vídeo, por outro lado permite que o aluno seja avaliado por um trabalho individual onde demonstra saber aplicar os conhecimentos teórico / práticos. DEMONSTRATION OF THE COHERENCE BETWEEN THE TEACHING METHODOLOGIES AND THE LEARNING OUTCOMES: The lectures are necessary for exhibiting concepts and work processes.
