2 Sept : National Contact Point (NCP) of the 7 th Framework Program on I&TD for the Environment (including Climate Change) RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES: Participation on research projects that studied air pollution assessment and atmospheric circulation patterns change, related with forest fires occurrence: INFLAME Project (ENV4-CT ) CONDOR Project (PRAXIS/3/3.2/FLOR/2129/95) CONVEC Project (PEAM/IF/0014/97) Work developed on EDIPU project (PRAXIS/3/3.1/CEG/2647/95) that assessed the atmospheric flow and pollutants dispersion on urban environment, apllying wind tunnel technologies. Research work was also centred on climate change assessment projects that study their impacts on forest fires occurrences, air quality, and on precipitation regimes namely: QUIMERA Project (POCTI/34346/CTA/2000) CLIMED Project (INCO-MED ICA ) The work performed under the Network of Excellence ATREUS (HPRN-CT ) concerned mesoscale modelling with MM5 model application to different synoptical scenarios including sensitivity analysis studies. Nowadays, the climate change impacts on forest fires regimes is the principal research topic namely through the participation in the INTERFACE Project (POCI/AMB/60660/2004). Work in the scope of mesoscale modelling, namely with MM5 and CHIMERE models, is also developed in the scope of the following projects: ACCENT NoE (GOCE-CT ) RED-MM5 ( ) FOTONET (GG/GGP/ME /05) ENSEMBLAIR (PTDC/AMB/69599/2006) Nowadays, in the scope of the integrated management of urban planning activities, the air quality modelling under a climate change scenario is the main aim within BRIDGE Project.
