O Urbanismo Moderno e a cidade contemporânea Metodologias de ensino (avaliação incluída) Utilizar-se-ão as metodologias tradicionais da História da Arte, com apresentação e discussão crítica de imagens. Ao longo do semestre deverão ser realizados um trabalho e uma prova escrita (exame). O trabalho consistirá na apresentação pelos alunos (em equipa de até 3 elementos) de um dos itens dos conteúdos programáticos. A nota final do aluno resultará da média aritmética entre os elementos de avaliação (o trabalho e o exame). The students intended learning outcomes (knowledge, skills and competences) The object of study of this course is the History of Urban Planning in the West, from antiquity to the present day. The aim is for students to critically discuss the main themes of Western history of town planning; to identify the problems present at every juncture in the history of cities and to be able to reflect on the various aspects involved expressing themselves correctly and consistently. It is hoped that the end of this course students are able to recognize, identify, discuss and present, with some critical and reflective capacity, the main themes in the history of Western urbanism. 6 Teaching methodologies (including evaluation) From a previously prepared schedule, students must choose the research topics on which will make a presentation to be held always on the first working session in class. In the second session the subject will be further developed and discussed taking into account some specific points that will be announced by the teacher.the development of the topics and presentations made by students will be one of the elements of the evaluation procedure. In this sense, a summary of the presentation should be submitted in writing to the teacher. Another element to consider is their participation in class discussions. Throughout the semester will be held at least a written test. The student's final grade will result from a weighted average of these elements of evaluation.
