Conclusions: Departamento de Fitotecnia e Engenharia Rural From the trials done we can get the follow general conclusions:. - Traction unit The traction unit, with a hydraulic transmission, and reversible seat drive, and a joystick to be driven, it is very easy to drive and allows a big manoeuvrability. Its utilization to power all the equipments reduce significantly its operation costs. The trim equipment The trim equipment, which speed is very low, has the cutter knifes to short leaving the stems close to the ground without be cutted; it is necessary to pull up these stems to be cutted. The general work is very good

Conclusions: (cont.) Mechanical hoe: Departamento de Fitotecnia e Engenharia Rural The mechanical hoe has a low work rate because its speed it to low; the lenght of each piece of mobilized soil must be equal to the work deep, why the speed must be 1.94-2.08 km/h. The work done with only one passage, when the inter-row, has a lot of weeds is not good, why we must do other passage. Air carrier sprayer The sprayer, after changed the air and liquid circuit allow, using ± 200 l / ha, a good control of all the diseases. The electrical system that avoid the waste of liquid in the end of each row is very important.

Conclusions: (cont.) Vineyard To have a good equipments performance it is necessary to introduce some changings in the vineyards like the follow ones: - Minimum distance between rows 1.5 m; - Top row area to turn back 3m x 3m; - Maximum lateral slope 10-15 %; - Maximum height row 1.6 m
