Designed for non residents of South America 2. Holding an international ticket arriving and/or departing from South America with LA/4M/XL/LP/LU/4C/JJ/PZ/IB or LA operated by IB for SAA3 OR 3. holding an international ticket arriving and/or departing from South America with all carriers EXCEPT AR/AV/TA/CM/DL/G3/S3/NK/2K/AF/KL/UX for SAA4 4. 2 RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. APPLICATION Applicable to journeys within South America on flights operated by LAN Airlines (LA), LAN Express (LU), LAN Ecuador (XL), LAN Peru (LP), LAN Argentina (4M), LAN Colombia (4C), TAM (JJ), and TAM MERCOSUR (PZ). ELEGIBILITY SAA3 fares are for NON Residents of South America only, holding an international ticket arriving and/or departing from South America with LA/4M/XL/LP/LU/4C/JJ/PZ/IB or LA operated by IB. Also applicable for Brazilian residents holding an international ticket within South America with segments arriving and/or departing from Brazil on LA/LU/LP/4M/4C/XL/JJ/PZ. Domestic flights within Brazil may not be purchased by these passengers. SAA4 fares are for NON Residents of South America only, holding an international ticket arriving and/or departing from South America with all carriers EXCEPT AR/AV/TA/CM/DL/G3/S3/NK/2K/AF/KL/UX. Passengers holding an international ticket issued outside of South America with LANPASS or TAM FIDELIDADE arriving and/or departing from South America are also eligible for the South American Airpass. Passengers being compensated also qualify. Passengers with ID/AD tickets do not qualify for the South American Airpass. 3. FARE CHARACTERISTICS Fares are in American dollars (USD). Minimum number of coupons: 3 coupon. Maximum number of coupons: 16 coupons. The same journey cannot be flown more than once in the same direction. Surface allowed. Fares are for individual passengers. For information on group rates, contact our Group Desk. South American Airpass fares earn 100% LANPASS KMs, TAM FIDELIDADE, oneworld or affiliated airline frequent flyer programs. Also programs for ALASKA airlines, and AEROMEXICO. South American Airpass cannot be purchased with LANPASS KMs or other frequent flyer programs. Fuel surcharges and taxes are NOT included in the fare. Fares are subject to changes without notice. 4. DISCOUNTS Children (CHD): 25% discount, except in booking classes P and I. Infant (INF): 90% discount for children under 2 years of age without a seat, except in booking classes P and I. Senior Citizens: Not applicable. Agency Discount (AD): Not applicable. 5. APPLICATION PERIOD: Travel on/after June 1, 2013 For domestic Brazil and Regional JJ/PZ routes travel on/after January 1, VALIDITY Maximum stay: 12 months. Ticket validity: 12 months from date of issue. 7. STOPOVERS AND CONNECTIONS The stopovers are limited by the total number of coupons (16 coupons). Connections are considered to be one coupon. 8. PROMOTION AND SALES The South American Airpass must be sold outside of South America except Brazil for SAA3. 9. RESERVATIONS All flights must be confirmed when being issued. The reservation should be made in connection with international flights. For details refer to 2. Eligibility. 10. PAYMENT AND ISSUE For fares arriving and/or departing with LAN/TAM (SAA3), a separate ticket must be issued in connection with an international ticket sold by LA/4M/XL/LP/LU/4C/JJ/PZ/IB or LA operated by IB with segments that have arrivals and/or departures to or from South America. For fares arriving and/or departing with other carriers EXCEPT AR/AV/TA/CM/DL/G3/S3/NK/2K/AF/KL/UX (SAA4), a separate ticket must be issued in connection with an international ticket with segments that have arrivals and/or departures to or from South America. For both fare types in the endorsements and restrictions box, the ticket needs to be annotated with the following in order to avoid receiving a debit memo: NON-END / NONREF/CHG FEE APPLIES/ CONX <international tkt no.> Issue with MCO or PTA is not allowed. Must be issued 14 days before departure. For bookings made less than 14 days before departure they must be issued within 24 hours. LAN Airlines (LA), LAN Express (LU), LAN Ecuador (XL), LAN Peru (LP), LAN Argentina (4M), LAN COLOMBIA (4C), TAM (JJ), TAM MERCOSUR (PZ) and Iberia (IB) reserve the right to modify time limits. 12. PLATE Issuance is permitted on plates: LA (045), XL (462), 4M (469), 4C (045), JJ (957) or PZ (692) as applicable according to the country of issue. Other plates are allowed under bilateral agreements with all carriers participating in the routing. 13. TOUR CODE Is mandatory and is auto generated by GDS when auto priced. Fares arriving and/or departing with LA/4M/XL/LP/LU/4C/JJ/PZ/IB or LA operated by IB: SA3 Fares arriving and/or departing with Others EXCEPT AR/AV/TA/CM/DL/G3/S3/NK/2K/AF/KL/UX: SA4 14. REFUNDS Refunds are allowed prior to the start of the journey with a surcharge of USD50 for South American Airpass fares. International ticket may have other penalties or restrictions. For partially used tickets refunds are allowed with a surcharge equivalent to the difference between the values of the original ticket less the sections already flown, plus a surcharge of USD DATE AND ROUTE CHANGES Date/flight changes on or before departures are allowed for a fee of USD50 each time the ticket is modified. For CHD fares, discounts applicable to the fee of USD50. If the original fare is not available when changing the date/flight, the passenger can buy a higher fare by paying the difference plus the fee of USD50. For partially used tickets changing date/flight they will be charged the difference between the value of the new ticket, less the original ticket plus a fee of USD50 per change. After departure changes not permitted. 16. BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE If the passenger arrives in South America with LAN/TAM, the baggage allowance is the same as for the international segment. If the passenger arrives in South America with another airline. The baggage allowance is the most restrictive of the international segment and the domestic segment and the regional segment.
