Objectives of the curricular unit and competencies Objectives 1) Understand the aesthetic diversity of cinema between the end of the 19th century and the last years of the 1920s as well as their original social and cultural contexts. 2) Explore the theoretical writings that have accompanied such aesthetic practices. Demonstração da coerência dos conteúdos programáticos com os objetivos da unidade curricular Os tópicos abordados inserem-se no período temporal da história do cinema indicado nos objectivos da unidade curricular. Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit s objectives The topics covered fall within the time period of film history stated in the objectives of the course. s. Metodologias de ensino (avaliação incluída) As aulas são expositivas e incluem a projeção de filmes (ou excertos) e momentos de discussão que possibilitem a participação sustentada dos alunos. Avaliação Na avaliação contínua, a presença do aluno é requerida em 75% das sessões e estas são as componentes de avaliação: participação nas aulas 0, 1, ou 2 valores, conforme a contribuição do aluno 10%; prova escrita que incide sobre a primeira parte do programa (de tempo aproximado 2 horas) 40%; trabalho escrito com 3500 palavras sobre um dos tópicos do programa (que deve ser discutido com o docente), feito por um grupo com o máximo de três alunos 50%. Na avaliação mista, a presença do aluno é requerida em 50% das sessões e estas são as componentes de avaliação: participação nas aulas 0, 1, ou 2 valores, conforme a contribuição do aluno 10%; prova escrita que cobre todo o programa (de tempo aproximado 2 horas) 60%; trabalho escrito com 3500 palavras sobre um dos tópicos do programa (que deve ser discutido com o docente), feito por um grupo com o máximo de três alunos 30%. Na avaliação final, o aluno submete-se a um exame escrito que incide sobre todo o programa em data a designar. Teaching methodologies (including evaluation) Classes are expository and include film screenings (or excerpts) and moments of discussion that enable the sustained participation of students.
