Objetivos de aprendizagem (conhecimentos, aptidões e competências) Esta unidade curricular pretende dar conta das principais estratégias metodológicas no domínio da economia financeira, bem como dos processos, técnicas e instrumentos que lhes estão associados, de forma a habilitar os estudantes para a conceção de um projeto de trabalho final de Mestrado. Conteúdos programáticos 1. Introdução ao trabalho de investigação 2. O problema de investigação 3. Revisão bibliográfica 4. Modelo de análise e métodos de investigação 5. Amostragem e recolha de dados 6. Análise e interpretação dos dados: técnicas de análise qualitativa e/ou quantitativa 7. Redação, apresentação e defesa do trabalho de investigação Metodologias de ensino (avaliação incluída) A Unidade Curricular é lecionada semanalmente através de aulas teórico-práticas. A avaliação dos estudantes é feita por um painel de avaliadores e incide sobre a proposta de projeto de trabalho final de Mestrado, que poderá adquirir a forma de dissertação, trabalho de projeto ou relatório de estágio. Para a obtenção de aprovação na unidade curricular os estudantes precisam que a avaliação da sua proposta tenha a qualificação de Aprovado. The students intended learning outcomes (knowledge, skills and competences) This course intends to address the main methodological strategies in financial research, and the associated processes, techniques and tools that allow students to define a final coursework project. It can be a dissertation or and applied project or an internship report. Syllabus 1. Introduction to research practices 2. Formulating the research problema 3. Critically reviewing the literature 4. Formulating the research design 5. Sampling and data collection 6. Analyzing data using quantitative and/or qualitative methods 7. Writing and presenting the research report Teaching methodologies (including evaluation) The classes in this course are structured into theoretical-practical sessions. The evaluation of the students is carried out by an evaluation panel, which will assess the quality of the research proposal submitted by the student and the way in which it is presented and defended.
