CBERS Program
The China Brazil Cooperation Program Joint development of Remote Sensing Satellites; Started in 1988; INPE (Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espacias) and CAST (China Academy of Space Technology) as the executors.
The challenge First Remote Sensing satellite for both countries; Language, culture, distance; Different management and institutional culture of INPE and CAST; No technological transfer; Technological components embargo policies;
The Achievements Development of a national industry Five satellites developed (CBERS-1, CBERS-2, CBERS-2B, CBERS-3, CBERS-4). With a free data policy established in 2004, CBERS became one of the biggest images distributors at world level. INPE has distributed over 1 million CBERS images to more than 77 mil users.

CBERS 2B - Mission In 2002 Brazil and China sign a new agreement to build CBERS-3 e 4. In 2004 the partners decide to build CBERS-2B CBERS-2B similar to CBERS-1&2, with spare cameras. The IRMSS is replaced by a High Res camera de (HRC). AIT done at INPE facilities.

Conclusão 1. Apesar da complexidade do Sistema, o desenho da missão procurou utilizar soluções simples e robustas; 2. A maioria dos equipamentos/subsistemas são baseados em soluções já testadas em voo; 3. O cronograma é bastante desafiador, no entanto, atendido algumas premissas, é factível;
