Pastor My dear Parishioners, In this Sunday's liturgy the Spirit of the Lord is upon Jesus, and it is he who sends the Son of God to announce the good news of the Kingdom of God happening in history. It is not a kingdom filled with brilliant ideas and intellectual people, but a Kingdom of simple people, of humble people, who work on the land, or fish at sea, or who are in the public squares in close contact with the multitude. The wiser we think we are, the more distant from the Kingdom do we become. God's dream is not a table full of books on theology or on studies about the end of time. God's dream is about people who love, who take care of others, who are merciful. This dream touches the very heart of God, and wins over hearts that are thirsting for God. I have met many priests who work at forming other priests in seminaries, priests who are preachers, and it is my experience that those who most touched the hearts of others were those who lived what they taught. It is no use to talk about God and to try to attract the people if one tries to hurt another, if one judges his brother and takes advantage of any opportunity to speak ill of another. Believe me, the people notice these things, have eyes for such things. If we are that way we run the risk of preaching to the wind, of expressing frustrated sentiments. 3 24 de Janeiro de 2016 St. James R.C. Church January 24, CALENDÁRIO SEMANAL DA COMUNIDADE PORTUGUESA E BRASILEIRA Tenha uma abençoada semana no Cristo Redentor, Father Celso Junior, CSsR. Pastor Missa Do Santíssimo Queridos Paroquianos, Na liturgia deste domingo o Espírito do Senhor está sobre Jesus, é Ele que envia o Filho de Deus para anunciar a boa nova do Reino de Deus acontecendo na história. Não é um Reino utópico de idéias ou intelectuais, mas é um Reino de gente simples, para gente humilde, que trabalha com a terra, que pesca, que está nas praças da cidade em contato com o povo. Quanto mais sábios nos achamos mais distantes do Reino ficamos o sonho de Deus não é uma mesa cheia de teologia dogmática ou escatologias sobre o fim dos tempos o sonho de Deus é um povo que ama, que cuida, que é misericordioso isso toca o coração de Deus, isso conquista os corações que tem sede de Deus. Já passei por muitos padres, formadores, padres e pregadores em minha vida, e na minha experiência os que mais tocaram os corações foram aqueles que viviam o que ensinavam Não adianta falar de Deus e querer ser bonitinho para o povo se no coração quer prejudicar o outro, julga o irmão e não pode ter a oportunidade dada que fala mal do próximo Acredite, o povo percebe, têm olhos para ver isto Se formos assim corremos o risco de pregações vazias e sentimentos frustrados. O Espírito Santo envia para fazer a partir do ser é o que somos que mostra ao povo o que fazemos. Ele enviou Jesus para curar, para dar a boa nova, para libertar, para sarar os corações feridos. Isso é o que Jesus é! Que aprendamos Dele a crescermos no seu amor! Jesus Manso e Humilde de coração, fazei o nosso coração semelhante ao Vósso!
