VI CLAFPL Latin-American Congress on Language Teacher Education Universidade Estadual de Londrina (State University of Londrina) October, 25 27, 2016 First Call for Papers The State University of Londrina (UEL Londrina), the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG) and the Special Interest Group on Teacher Education of the National Association of Post-graduation and Research in Languages and Linguistics (ANPOLL) have the pleasure to announce the VI CLAFPL Latin-American Congress on Language Teacher Education to be held at the State University of Londrina (UEL), Londrina campus, Brazil, from October 25-27, 2016, to address the theme: (Ir)relevant dialogues between teacher education and language learning The event comprises conferences, round tables, symposia, individual and coordinated as well as coordinated interactive poster sessions, given by well-known researchers in the field of teacher education in Brazil and abroad. Proposals for symposia and papers (coordinated and individual) and poster sessions, on teacher education issues are welcome and will be organized according to the following themes: 1. Literacies 2. Identities 3. Linguistic policies and their interface with language teacher education 4. Linguistic education 5. Curriculum issues in teacher education 6. Digital technologies/ead 7. School-university partnerships 8. Educational evaluation 9. Ethics, citizenship and inclusion on language teacher education. 10. Cognition and emotions. 1

Teacher educator s professional development Inter and transdisciplinary projects Proposals based on the themes above can be submitted to the following modalities: Symposia Coordinated Duration 2 hours 90 minutes Description Presentation and discussion of research papers submitted by a PHD professor who will be responsible for selecting three to five papers from, at least, two different institutions. Each symposium will last 2 hours.the coordinator will be responsible for organizing the time of each presentation and the debate or general discussion. Presentation and discussion of three papers produced by researchers who may be from the same institution, from a research group or collective research project, etc., who may wish - for example - to present results of the same research from different perspectives. Three proposals will be submitted by a coordinator - professor or PhD researcher, who will be responsible for selecting and sending them to the Organizing Committee. Each session will last 90 minutes - 20 minutes for each paper and 30 minutes for debate or general discussion. Individual 30 minutes 20 minute oral paper presentations, followed by a period of 10 minutes for questions and discussion, proposed by teachers, researchers or post-graduate students. The proposals will be grouped by the Organizing Committee according to similar themes. Poster sessions 60 minutes Printed posters with 90cm wide and 120cm length, proposed by teachers, researchers and students. Each presenter has to remain close to their poster during the time reserved to the poster session according to the program of the event. Each participant can be author or co-author within two papers, of any the modality. The deadline for submission of proposals and the dissemination of acceptance letters will follow the following schedule: Stage of submission Submission of symposium proposals Dates From 1 October to 2 November 2015. symposia Paper submission to coordinated 4 January to 8 February 2016 Paper submission to Individual paper and posters sessions 4 January to 8 Bebruary 2016 Disclosure of approved coordinated paper sessions, Individual and poster sessions 9 May 2016 Registration period begins. 4 January 2016 Deadline for the payment of registration fees. 30 September 2016 The selection of symposia proposals, coordinated, individual and poster sessions will be conducted by the VI CLAFPL Scientific Committee. The selection of papers to symposia will be done by the coordinator responsible for the corresponding symposium. The submission of proposals will be done through the website (to be announced soon). The abstracts should: a) include the theme; b) include the title, author(s), affiliation; c) be written in 200 to 200 words; The official languages for the event are Portuguese, Spanish, French and English; and participants are to present in the same language as that in which they submitted their proposals.
