3 MESSAGE We would like to welcome you to the 7th edition of GI2 (Global Summit on Innovations in Interventions). This year the meeting will be held at Instituto Dante Pazzanese de Cardiologia in São Paulo, Brazil on April 7-8, The main focus of GI2 has been the most recent innovations in the main areas of interventional cardiology including coronary artery disease, structural and congenital heart diseases. In this 7th edition an exciting program was condensed on 2 days covering many hot topics such as complex PCI, bioresorbable scaffolds, integrating imaging and physiology in the catheterization laboratory, left ventricular assist devices for coronary interventions, optimal dual antiplatelet therapy after PCI, left atrial appendage closure, patent forame ovale and transcatheter aortic and mitral valve replacement. Over 10 live cases will be performed by experienced operators from Dante Pazzanese and will show new technologies and devices. Such cases will serve as a matrix for interactive discussions with the audience and panelists in a friendly atmosphere. A renowned faculty has always been the hallmark of GI2. On this 7th edition this could not be any different: over 30 international and national faculty members along with the local staff at Dante Pazzanese will contribute with their expertise to enhance the quality of the meeting. The lively, multicultural and contemporaneous tradition of São Paulo is an additional ingredient to stimulate participants to come to this 7th edition and share their own experience in a scientific driven atmosphere.
