2 Automobilística Motor diesel Motor diesel O motor diesel, desenvolvido em 1892 por Rudolf Diesel é, junto com o motor de ciclo Otto, o mais importante motor de combustão interna utilizado para a propulsão de todo tipo de veículos. Devido à sua melhor efi ciência e alto torque em baixas velocidades, há muito tempo que os motores diesel se estabeleceram no setor automotivo. Além disso, em virtude do seu contínuo desenvolvimento, eles são também limpos e silenciosos. O motor diesel é caracterizado por uma injeção direta e uma autoignição. A potência do motor não é regulada com base na massa de ar, mas sim com base no combustível injetado. Neste caso, fala-se de uma regulação qualitativa. 4 High-Speed Glow System (Equipment set: ATS1) This training environment comprising a high-speed glow system is ideal for practical and in-depth education on modern glow systems in passenger cars and commercial vehicles. A use of the latest educational concepts and numerous interactive animations for graphic representation of complex arrangements in automotive technology guarantees trainees a special learning experience. In addition, didactically designed experiment hardware allows a mediation of diagnostic skills which trainees can directly apply in daily workshop activities. The experiment hardware consists of real automotive components. Each component is treated realistically as an individual entity, and as part of an entire assortment comprising the high-speed glow system. This makes it possible to practically demonstrate the relationships arising from the principle of input, processing and output. The associated software incorporates the full course and provides multimedia representations of the provided hardware components. Its multimedia courses combine cognitive and hands-on (haptic) training units into a comprehensive unified concept, specifically enabling students to acquire skills in the handling of equipment. Starting with basic courses and advancing to cover a huge variety of electrical engineering and electronics topics, a wide range of multimedia courses is available for study in school or in professional and advanced training courses. The UniTrain-I system is completely self-contained and can be used anywhere at any time. The multimedia learning environment the system provides high degrees of motivation, and maximum learning effectiveness in laboratories, at work or at home. It thus becomes a guarantor for effective and efficient study. Access to the multimedia courses and control of virtual instruments and experiment hardware is provided by LabSoft, the system's open experiment platform. The courses teach the theoretical building blocks and provide experiments to be carried out using the course-specific experiment hardware. The intelligent measurement interface supplies the analog and digital measuring and control I/O and represents, in combination with the system's virtual instruments, a high quality item of laboratory equipment. 8 Modular engine management "Common Rail" Modular engine management "Common Rail" (Equipment set: MMM1) This engine management system provides trainees with all the necessary components (engine control unit, sensors, actuators, power supply) for modular assembly and configuration. This means that the complexity of the system can be adapted to need and an in-depth understanding can be gained of communication between individual sensors or actuators and the engine control unit, considering input, processing and output as a basic principle. To ensure the perfect symbiosis between theory and practice, all the modules have genuine, fully functioning components wherever possible. These are then complemented with realistic drawings. To further enhance the practical aspect and make it true to life, each module has a simulation mode and an authentic mode, such that it is possible to measure the actual air-flow by mass using the authentic flow meter. In addition, the response of the entire system can be analysed when plugs and connecting leads are removed. The on-board diagnostic (OBD) connector on the control unit allows previously activated simulated faults to be read out. The safety measurement sockets and the "all-in-one" measuring apparatus offer students multiple options for carrying out measurements on the training system.
