O estudante compreende os principais mecanismos do ciclo celular, das células somáticas e germinais; entende a importância da diversidade genética, genes de desenvolvimento e epigenética; compreende os mecanismos da herança genética, probabilidade genética e alterações cromossómicas; conhece as principais alterações na sequência de DNA responsáveis pelo aparecimento de doenças; conhece os principais testes de análise de genes específicos utilizados no laboratório clínico para diagnóstico das diferentes doenças genéticas hereditárias, e análise forense; compreende a atuação da farmacogenética no tratamento e monitorização do paciente; compreender os avanços científicos atuais no âmbito da investigação clínica genética. 3 Metodologias de ensino (avaliação incluída) Os principais conceitos teóricos são apresentados ao estudante através da metodologia expositiva, com recurso ao suporte audiovisual. A metodologia interrogativa é utilizada ao estimular no estudante o interesse e espírito crítico acerca dos casos clínicos genético-laboratoriais apresentados. A metodologia ativa pretende que o estudante seja capaz de aplicar os conhecimentos teóricos através da apresentação oral em grupo de um tema/artigo científico relacionado com os objetivos da UC, da sua análise e discussão perante o docente e restantes colegas. A avaliação contempla duas frequências escritas, representando cada uma 50% da classificação final. As classificações mínimas de cada frequência são de 8 valores. Ao obter menos de 8 valores numa das frequências o aluno é automaticamente admitido a exame. A obtenção de 9,5 valores na média das frequências é indispensável para aprovar à UC. The student understands the main mechanisms of the cell cycle, the somatic and germ cells; understands the importance of genetic diversity, developmental genes and epigenetics; understand the mechanisms of inheritance, genetic and chromosomal alterations probability; know the major changes in the DNA sequence responsible for the onset of disease; meets the main specific gene analysis tests used in the clinical laboratory for diagnosis of various hereditary genetic diseases, and forensic analysis; understand the role of pharmacogenetics in treatment and patient monitoring; understand current scientific advances in the context of genetic clinical research. Pharmacogenetics Teaching methodologies (including evaluation) The main theoretical concepts are presented to the student through the expository methodology, using audiovisual support. The interrogative method is used to stimulate student interest in and critical thinking about the genetic laboratory clinical cases presented. The active methodology you want the student to be able to apply theoretical knowledge through oral presentation in group a topic / scientific article related to the PA objectives of its analysis and discussion to the teacher and other colleagues. The evaluation includes two written tests, each representing 50% of the final grade. The minimum ratings of each frequency are 8 values. To get less than 8 values in the frequencies students are automatically admitted to the exam. Obtaining of 9.5 on the average frequency is essential to adopt UC.
