2 Objetivos de aprendizagem (conhecimentos, aptidões e competências) Após aprovação na unidade curricular, o aluno deverá possuir a capacidade de: 1. Efectuar cálculos com matrizes e determinantes. 2. Discutir e resolver sistemas de equações lineares. 3. Reconhecer os conceitos de espaço vectorial e aplicação linear e utilizá-los na resolução de problemas destes domínios. 4. Determinar valores e vectores próprios de uma matriz. Diagonalizar uma matriz. 5. Calcular e interpretar geometricamente os produtos interno, externo e misto. 6. Aplicar os conceitos abordados nesta unidade curricular na resolução de problemas de geometria analítica. 7. Identificar e utilizar os temas abordados na resolução de problemas de Engenharia. Learning outcomes of the curricular unit OBJECTIVES AND SPECIFIC SKILLS: In this course students must identify and use the themes studied to solve concrete problems Having completed the course, students should be able to: 1. Perform calculations with matrices and determinants. 2. Discuss and solve systems of linear equations. 3. Recognize the concepts of vector space and linear application and use them to solve problems. 4. Recognize whether a matrix is diagonalizable or not. 5. Calculate and interpret geometrically the internal, external and mixed products. Solve orthogonality problems. 6. Apply knowledge involving straight lines and planes in the geometric problems. 7. Classify a conic and use a change of referential to write it in the canonical form.

4 Demonstração da coerência dos conteúdos programáticos com os objectivos da UC Os conteúdos programáticos estão em coerência com os objectivos da unidade curricular dado que todos os tópicos incluídos no programa foram seleccionados de modo a proporcionarem os conhecimentos básicos de Álgebra Linear e Geometria Analítica, necessários a qualquer aluno de engenharia. Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit's objectives The course contents are consistent with the objectives of the course because all the topics included in the program were selected to provide the basic knowledge of, necessary for any engineering student.

5 Metodologias de ensino (avaliação incluída): Nas aulas teóricas são apresentados os conteúdos, de um modo expositivo, e logo que possível, são dados aos alunos exercícios para que possam testar e consolidar os seus conhecimentos (aulas teóricopráticas). São disponibilizados, no moodle da U.C., um conjunto de textos de apoio e listagens de exercícios. O aluno fica aprovado na U.C.: Avaliação contínua: realiza 2 testes e a nota final será a média aritmética dos testes, desde que a nota de qualquer dos testes seja superior ou igual a 8 valores e a média seja superior ou igual a 9,5 valores. Avaliação por exame: Caso não se verifiquem as condições anteriores o aluno terá de se submeter a um exame. Ficará aprovado se a nota for superior ou igual a 9,5 valores. Se a nota do exame for superior a 17 valores os alunos terão de fazer um trabalho ou submeterem-se a uma prova oral. Teaching methodologies (including evaluation) In the lectures are presented the contents of an expository mode, and as soon as possible, students are given exercises to test and consolidate their knowledge (the theoretical practical lectures). They are available in UC moodle, a set of handouts and lists of exercises. The student is approved in U.C.: CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT:.The final grade will be the arithmetic mean of scores in the two tests, as long as both grades are not lower than eight points. To pass the UC the final grade must be 10 or higher. If the final grade is 17 points higher than students have to do a job or submit to an oral. ASSESSMENT BY EXAM: The final grade will be the note of the written examination provided greater than or equal to 10 values. There are no oral examinations. If the final grade is 17 points higher than students have to do a job or submit to an oral examination.

6 Demonstração da coerência das metodologias de ensino com os objectivos da unidade curricular As metodologias de ensino estão em coerência com os objectivos da unidade curricular dado que a metodologia expositiva associada às aulas onde se pratica a resolução de problemas possibilitam a aquisição de conhecimentos que podem ser directamente utilizados na resolução de problemas de engenharia onde intervêm estes conteúdos.

7 Demonstration of the coherence between the teaching methodologies and the learning outcomes The teaching methodologies are consistent with the objectives of the course, since the methodology exhibition associated with the classes where they practice problem-solving enable the acquisition of knowledge that can be directly used in solving engineering problems involved where these contents.
