1 Informative Document 2012 Gangneung ICCN World Intangible Culture Festival Gangneung, Republic of Korea October 19 ~ 29, OBJECTIVES To raise awareness the need for safeguarding intangible cultural heritage To share the values of world intangible culture with participation of local authorities and cultural institutes all around the world To present the role of intangible culture as a source of sustainable local development and cultural reconciliation To enhance local tourism power through the festival OBJETIVOS: Aumentar o conhecimento sobre a necessidade da Salvaguarda do Patrimônio Cultural Imaterial. Compartilhar os valores de cultura imaterial no mundo com participação das autoridades locais e institutos culturais ao redor do mundo. Apresentar a cultura imaterial como fonte de reconciliação cultural e desenvolvimento local sustentável. Elevar o poder do turismo local no festival. 2. GENERAL INFORMATION Date : October 19 ~ October 28, 2012 First part : October 18 ~ 24, 2012 Second part : October 23 ~ 29, 2012 Venue : Gangenung, Republic of Korea Organizers : Gangneung City, ICCN Cooperation : Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea

2 Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministry of Public Administration and Security Korean National Commission for UNESCO Program : International meetings(iccn General Assembly, Youth Forum) Performance Exhibition Workshop (Master Class) Open Sales Market Participants(performers) : Max. 20 persons per team Participants(ICCN General Assembly/ Youth Forum) : Max. 10 persons Each culture team shall choose the first part or the second part during the 10 days. Each team shall participate in the festival for 5 days excluding the arrival and departure days. Each team can enjoy a tour around the host city while they are free. Each participating team is required to send us information of the culture, photo, video, exhibition materials, etc. by parcel and . Those materials will be used for exhibition, promotion booth, performance introduction and advertisement. 3 Participantes (performance) : máximo 20 pessoas por grupo. Participantes (Assembléia geral ICCN / Fòruum Jovem): Máximo de 10 pessoas. Cada grupo de cultura deve escolher a primeira parte ou a segunda parte durante os 10 dias. Cada grupo deve participar no festival por cinco dias excluindo os dias da chegada e partida. Cada grupo poderá visitar a cidade enquanto estiver livre. Cada grupo participante deverá enviar para a organização do Festival a informação da cultura, fotos, vídeo, materiais de exibição, etc. através de correio ou . Os materiais serão usados para exibição, promoção 3. Ter uma oportunidade de declarar como Patrimônio Imaterial Cultural pode ser unido ao desenvolvimento local. Ter uma oportunidade para adquirir o conhecimento sobre o ICCN Joint Festival. Proporcionar uma renda com seus grupos de artistas e cultura para a venda de produtos de arte folclórica no Open Sales Market (Mercado aberto).

PROGRAMS 4-1 Performance One main stage, 3 small stages, one indoor stage Activity of each team - Performance on a stage: 20~30 minutes, twice a day - Parade: once in the period 4-2 Exhibition Items: craft, photo, video, costume, brochure, etc. 4-3 Master-class (TOP 10 Masters) Time : Min. 30 min, 4 times (classes) a day for 5 days Items: song, music, craft, dance, etc. 4-4 Open Sales Market Items: Souvenir, art craft, Music CD, Traditional food, etc. Each participating city will be provided with one(5m*5m) or two booths for their promotion and selling PROGRAMAS Performance Um palco principal, três palcos menores, um palco fechado. Atividades de cada grupo. o Performances no palco: 20 a 20 minutos, duas vezes ao dia. o Desfile: uma vez. Exibições Itens: Ofício, foto, vídeo, panfleto, etc. Principais classes ( TOP 10 principais) Tempo: 30 minutos, quatro classes / dia por cinco dias. Itens: música, poesia, habilidade, dança, etc. Mercado aberto para vendas Itens: lembranças, artesanato, música CD, comida típica etc

5 Cada cidade participante será proporcionada com uma (25m²) ou duas cabines para sua venda e promoção. 5 NO. Várias comunidades estrangeiras na Coréia. 6 FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENT All participants will receive accommodations (hotels and meals) and local transportation. Other expenses, including airfare, shall be borne by the participants. Arranjos financeiros Todos os participantes receberão acomodação (hotel e alimentação) e transporte local. Outros gastos, incluindo passagens, deverão ser pagos pelos próprios participantes. 7 PREPARATORY PROCESS The culture teams that wish to join the festival are required to confirm their attendance and return the completed registration form as soon as possible. They are requested to submit any information (video, photo, and document) of their performance, exhibition, and experience activities in English as soon

6 as possible. The above plan is the basic principle for the invitation and management of the festival. However, considering the different situation of each team, part of the programs can be changed through the discussion between the organizer and the participants. PROCESSO DE PREPARAÇÃO As equipes de cultura que desejam se juntar ao festival deverão confirmar a presença e enviar o formulário de registro completo o mais breve possível. É solicitado apresentar informações (vídeo, foto e documento) da performance, exibição e atividades de experiência em inglês o mais breve possível. O plano acima é o princípio básico para o convite e gestão do festival. Entretanto, considerando as diferentes situações de cada grupo, parte dos programas poderão ser alterados através do organizador e os participantes. 8 VISA REQUIREMENTS & TRAVEL DOCUMENTS Each participant should have a valid passport and travel documents visas, and other formalities, which will be needed. Since any accident caused by personal health problems of participants is excluded from the responsibility of the organizers, each participant is kindly requested to obtain personal health and accident insurance prior to his or her departure to Korea for this festival. Qualquer acidente causado por problemas pessoais de saúde dos participantes está fora da responsabilidade dos organizadores. A cada participante é gentilmente solicitado obter seguro de acidente e saúde pessoal para a sua viagem a Coréia para este festival. 9 USE OF MATERIALS All materials including performance, exhibition, and experience activities by the participants will be used for the promotion of the ICCN and the host city.
